In a first-of-its-kind campus collaboration program, the U.S. Department of Commerce (DOC) is partnering with Cornell University to provide USPTO and DOC resources directly to students, faculty and industry to help accelerate commercialization of new technologies through an Innovation and Outreach Coordinator. The partnership was established in October 2012, and Mindy Bickel is the second Innovation and Outreach Coordinator for the Greater New York Region. In this capacity she works closely with Cornell University as they endeavor to build Cornell NYC Tech, a graduate level campus which will be located on Roosevelt Island in New York City. In addition to working with Cornell, Ms. Bickel works with other local educators in the New York City metropolitan region. She also works with innovators and entrepreneurs in the City of New York, providing them with appropriate information and resources offered by the Department of Commerce.
