Washington, D.C . - Under Secretary of Commerce for Intellectual Property and Director of the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) Jon Dudas will highlight by teleconference on Friday, January 5, the importance of intellectual property protection to Seattle-Tacoma, to the creation of jobs and to the economy, as well as the dangers of piracy and counterfeiting in the knowledge-based economy. He also will report on the national employment numbers for the month of December, which will be released that morning.
