How to Pass Standard Grade or Intermediate Exams
Sick and tired of not knowing what to do when you study? Well, here is a guide that is right for you! This article should apply to most Standard Grade and Intermediate 1-2 examinations.
Steps
-
1Get your teacher to help you. When exam years come around you will need your teacher more than ever. Put aside your differences with him/her and work together to find out things such as what books to get, where to get them etc. Also you may want to go to them if you are confused with a certain topic. Don't sit and bury your head in the sand and hope it will go away or not be on the exam. Get it sorted out so that if it does appear on the exam you are well prepared for it.Ad

2Know your exam. You're probably thinking, "what is this step about?" but the truth is Past Papers are genuinely your key to success. Exam questions will be of a similar basis but will not be worded the same. It isn't common for the same exam question to appear two years in a row, but nevertheless exam questions will always be similar. If you master all that came before you, you can take all that is bound to come.

3Study. With all of the above hints in mind, here is a study guide. Studying is fairly simple: read over your notes a couple of times and then do a complementary exercise to go along with it. However, don't study for hours upon hours because you won't remember anything that way. Study for maybe 1-1.5 hours a night doing maybe half an hour on each subject with a short 10-15 minute break between each go. During your break, have a snack or watch some TV or just sit with your eyes shut... it's your break!

4Leave some time to escape from studies. Get away from the studying a bit and just enjoy yourself. Go to the Movies with friends, play some video games or play sports. Sports is a good one, especially the likes of golf, boxing or swimming as they offer something for you to focus on and forget your studies for a little while.Ad
Tips
- Don't overdo it. You will tire yourself out or become bored with the subject. Just do enough so that you take in what you read and also remain interested in the subject.
