Getting Things Done is a book about personal productivity by David Allen. It recommends a five-step method to plan a project of any size.

- What is the purpose of your project? Clarify your focus, align resources, motivate and define success.
- Clarify principles or constraints. For example: Are you trying to please your boss, stay within budget or finish by a certain deadline?
