    Koz's comments about Bungie were pretty astute. If Bungie owns the IP how can Activision make so much money from it. Perhaps a dumb question, but I don't understand how the publishers make so much money in the first place, especially with the threat of digital distribution on the horizon, and the proliferation of used game sales. All they do is print the CDs and send them to EB games. Gees I could do that. Or more to the point, couldn't the developers do that themselves. If the retailers were to forfeit the publishers think about how much more money they'd all make. If anything those Activision dollar numbers strikes me as low. You have to give them credit, Activision have done everything in this industry. They were going toe to toe with Atari in the early days, and here they are, quietly overlording the whole industry. I wonder when they'll release their own console again, or if they'll wait for the cloud to catch up with their subscription aspirations. CoD MW2 is good, but for me I'm enjoying loads of FPSs', and multiplayer wise it's been Battlefield 1943 that's got me hooked. I don't think a subscription model would work beyond the hardcore because there's simply too many other good or great FPSs' out there. Hell, FEAR 1 is good, Unreal from 10 years ago is still good. Personally I think Black Ops looks spectacular, but again I'm not going to pay $100 for it when I could get 4 or 5 older FPSs' for the same amount.

    I'm more irked by the lack of system-link these days. I love local multiplayer but I also do like having my own screen for certain games (first-person shooters and such) but I also don't like having to pay for an online service just to play with my mate now and then.

    Also, internet can be quite inconsistent in the area that I live in and in other areas. System-link negates that problem entirely.

    I think that Activision has the mentality to try the pay-to-play idea. As proven in the past Activision will do just about anything to get money. However should the pay-to-play system be introduced, it will be the final nail in the cofffin. I know i still haven't bought MW2, partially because of the lack of dedicated servers, how many people would be willing to pay for a console/comp + internet plan + pay-to-play + the game (+ internet for ps3/360)?

    COD is nowhere near star wars. Call of Duty has certainly made its impact on the FPS genre, but as a name it will be forgotten. In time the conventions that COD has introduced will become the norm, to the point where only wiki articles and a preverbial handfull of gamers will remember/care. Star Wars wasn't, to my recolection, a iinventor of anything, but rather did what it did well and on larger scale than anything else of the time. Books, movies, games and toys have been made for the SW universe, which is made possible by the imaginative story line, something that COD exchanged for "realism".

    I think being able to screen cheat is a good thing. Split screen shooters aren't competative and generally (with my mates anyway) screen cheating is used to narrow down the area of search for targets and to stop camping. If you're on a large map like Creek on COD4, you don't want to spend 15 minutes running around in circles looking for your buddy, by looking at your buddies screen you can head in their general direction, allowing more time for action. If someone screen cheats to the extent of pinpointing your location everytime, don't play with them, it's that simple.

    I think the other guy's pretty gutsy to be in a cavern in the mountains with Kojima. I'd be scared that he'd go native and start fashoning weapons, drinking his own pee and what not.

    I used to live in Copenhagen (Aqua are Danish) and now unfortunately they are the band that i have seen the most number of times live. :p Trust me it is really no surprise that they have 2 best of albums

    The only people who hate screen cheats are campers.
    so i say we look at their screens and expose them as the campers that they are.
