    Divide the numerator of the fraction by the denominator. For example, if you had 13/8, you would divide 13 by 8 to get 1.625.

    Multiply the result by 100, or move the decimal point two spaces to the right, to get a percent. For example, 1.625 as a percent would be 162.5.

    Add a percent (%) sign so others know that the number is being compared to 100.

    Write a math sentence that shows the multiplication of the fraction by 100. For example, if you wanted to convert 13/8 to percent, you would multiply 13/8 by 100/1.

    Multiply the fractions. To do this, multiply the numerators and denominators. Remember that the denominators do not have to be like.

    Simplify as needed. Convert the fraction to a decimal; divide the top by the bottom. In the example given above, 1300/8 would be 162.5 as a decimal. Congratulations - you are done!
