Description
With ClassDojo, teachers and parents help children learn important soft skills, such as grit, curiosity, and focus - for free! ClassDojo replaces classroom management tools and behavior trackers like gold-star charts, with positive feedback and parent communication.
Teachers use ClassDojo to give their students instant, positive encouragement during class. Teachers choose and customize behaviors that matter most, and then award a student in class Dojo points when a skill is demonstrated. Best of all, teachers can engage parents with ClassDojo progress reports and instant messaging so they can stay involved in their child’s success at school.
Parents can see how their child is doing in real-time, and chat with teachers easily and safely using ClassDojo Messaging. Teachers love sending broadcast reminders to all parents at once, but also private, meaningful communications like text messages, photos, and voice notes so that parents are connected to the classroom without the hassle of emails and school newsletters.
Students can also create their own accounts, customize their Dojo avatars, and review their own performance for self-reflection while in school or at home.
Unlike most classroom management organizers and class planners, ClassDojo can be used on any device: laptops, iPhones, iPads, Android tablets and phones, as well as smartboards - and its syncs seamlessly across all of them in real time! The ClassDojo Support Team is available around the clock if you ever need help, too!

Better, but Still a Poor Version
The newest update has made some improvement, but still contains multiple time consuming steps when giving students points. Prior to the update, I could select several students together or individually and provide them with points quickly and easily. Now I have to click on "select," then click on the students or deselect them, then "award points," then wait for an animation, then finally click on the positive or negative point.
It is better when you can automatically select multiple students individually and then click "award points." Adding the extra step so that you can select multiple students is time consuming, especially on an iPad or iPhone. While it may work better this way on the computer, touch screens are better serviced when they can select several students individually.
Please give us the option to download a previous version.
Great app, wish there were more options
I teach group music theory classes out of my home and use this app (and sometimes the desktop version) to track student behavior and progress on 'non-parent' weekly classes to let them know how their child(ren) is/are doing. I like the ease of use and the messaging function which easily and confidentially allows me to communicate to my parents.
I just wish that there were some more good/bad behavior choices that I could add - I message sometimes just to fill the parents in on the behaviors I couldn't record.
Overall - great app! And can't beat the price (free) so it's a nice free service to offer to my parents. Thanks!
Not Enough
Update. Still pointless and useless. Now it also consistently links my daughter to her last year's teacher and I rarely am ever able to see a thing. There's still no rhyme or reason to the points awarded. I've finally decided to just delete this app and asked that the teacher contact me directly if any issues arise.
I really don't get the point of this app. There is no information or explanations. My daughter's teacher gives different areas a number and either red or green. I don't know what the numbers mean. I assume green is good. Maybe if I could click on the area and get more information about why she assigned a certain number? As it is, it really doesn't tell me anything and I rarely look at it.
