Wes Plate Nov 4, 2013 8:42 AM (in response to coletech)coletech,
The Apply to: buttons will both be greyed out if
- you don't have a clip open on the timeline
- the "Open Clip" button requires a clip to be open in Monitor/Timeline
- AND no clips are selected in the project panel
Try opening your clip on the timeline and change Apply markers at to Current Player Position. Place your CTI at the location of your first marker (minus your PLL preroll time) then Apply to Open Clip.
- you don't have a clip open on the timeline

3. Re: Live logger not bringing Ipad Timecode into Prelude
coletech Nov 4, 2013 9:12 AM (in response to Wes Plate)The times on the logged clips as reported in the dialog are incorrect. The logs span 8+ hours of footage in many clips.
Do all the clips need to be on the timeline?
Since the timecode on the clips and the logged metadata don't match, will it work at all?

4. Re: Live logger not bringing Ipad Timecode into Prelude
Wes Plate Nov 4, 2013 9:18 AM (in response to coletech)You can apply a single long log to multiple clips selected in the project panel IF you log with a timecode syncing device from Ambient Recording or Timecode Buddy.
We are investigating the time of day timecode complaint.
If the timecode doesn't match and you have the clip open on the timeline, you can place the CTI at the location of the first good marker and apply from there regardless of what the time values of the markers say in the Unassociated Metadata panel.

5. Re: Live logger not bringing Ipad Timecode into Prelude
coletech Nov 4, 2013 9:41 AM (in response to Wes Plate)Is there a way to re-write the header of the xml to make the program believe it was using external TC?
I have a TC buddy but it wouldn't work with the app (see other post)
I have 8+ hours of logs using Ipad clock that was within a second of the TC time of day free run TC on the clips.
I'd love to use the ipad clocked logs with the 118 clips in the project

lewis_adobe Jan 5, 2014 1:23 PM (in response to S2-WCP)A new update for Live Logger was posted right before the holdays. Update to version 1.1 of Prelude Live Logger and version 2.2 of Prelude. The updated versions will create and import time code correctly.
Thanks!

Ada_Wang Jan 6, 2014 12:50 AM (in response to S2-WCP)Hi -
To sync to multiple clips at one time, please do the following steps:
1. Multi-select the clips that you want to sync to in the project panel
2. Check the markers in the "Unassociated Metadata" panel
3. Select "Marker Start Time" for "Apply markers at"
4. Click "Selected Clips"
Please let me know if it helps.
Thanks,
Ada

14. Re: Live logger not bringing Ipad Timecode into Prelude
lewis_adobe Jan 6, 2014 7:58 AM (in response to S2-WCP)Are you getting any messages in the events panel after you try to sync using the steps from the previous reply? If there are messages about the operation you have performed, a "!" Icon will be displayed in the bottom right corner of the Prelude application window. Clicking on that icon opens the panel. If there are messages displayed there, can post the message? Thanks!

17. Re: Live logger not bringing Ipad Timecode into Prelude
S2-WCP Jan 6, 2014 8:01 PM (in response to Ada_Wang)hmm. I’m at my cabin and the internet is probably too slow to get you those clips in any decent timeframe.
perhaps there is a way to ingest footage with the time of capture attached that I’m not doing or something?

19. Re: Live logger not bringing Ipad Timecode into Prelude
S2-WCP Jan 7, 2014 7:20 AM (in response to Ada_Wang)I think I may have found it! you need to set the timecode record settings on the camera (I was using a 5D) as soon as my small child goes to sleep I will test it. Thanks so much for everyone’s help.

20. Re: Live logger not bringing Ipad Timecode into Prelude
S2-WCP Jan 7, 2014 8:18 AM (in response to Ada_Wang)ok still not working. where can I send the 3 clips and the xmp to?
thanks
I have fixed the timecode on the camera so that it matches up with the iPad but they still won’t sync
-
21. Re: Live logger not bringing Ipad Timecode into Prelude
S2-WCP Jan 7, 2014 1:49 PM (in response to Ada_Wang)Yep figured it out. You need to ensure your timecode settings on the 5d are set to:
Count up - free run
Start time setting - set to camera time
Movie rec count - time code
Movie play count - time code
Now if only you could do this in premiere and skip the prelude step...
Thanks again for you help and patients.
