    Zoom and rotate tool lag

    briantyk

I have had this issue for a while now as I paint. When I zoom in (cmd+space+glide cursor) and release, there is a delay. It remains on the zoom (+,-) sign instead of returning immediately to the brush tool. The delay lasts for about a second. After zooming in/out, I have to move the canvas around holding space in order to get back into the brush tool. This also occurs with when I use rotate (r). It's not my keyboard because I have tried two different keyboards with the same issue. I have also tried both CS6 and CC and the problem does not go away. Perhaps it has to do with my computer but it is runs just fine with everything else.

What are your exact versions, OS, GPU, …?

Is the GPU driver fully updated?

What are Photoshop’s GPU related Performance Preferences?

As for the Zoom does turning off »Use Graphics Processor« in the Performance Preferences and restarting Photoshop have any bearing on the issue? (This would invalidate the Rotate View Tool altogether.)

Thanks for your response. I run both Windows 7 and Yosemite on a desktop pc. I have just tried Photoshop CC on Windows 7 and there are no issues at all. So the problem is tied to Yosemite but I cannot figure out what it is. My graphics card is an NVIDIA GTX 770 and Yosemite keeps it up to date. I have tried unchecking "Use graphics processor" but this disables the cmd+space zoom ability and the rotate view as you said.
