Trevor.Dennis Mar 17, 2015 2:41 AM (in response to c.pfaffenbichler)Yes. Put them up, and you can guarantee you'll have anything up to half a dozen different repairs done for you inside two or three hours. Make it a decent resolution if you decide to go that way.

3. Re: Putting a torn photo together
Rchjr56 Mar 17, 2015 11:32 AM (in response to Trevor.Dennis)Thanks for the responses, I should have been a little more specific. I have two large pieces of a old photo that are larger than a flat bed scanner. I scanned both pieces separately and merged them together in Photoshop. The torn halfs both have edges with paper on them that are not part of the photo but part of the paper underneath. When I try to line up the edges the paper from one side hides the other as they get together. I'm sure I need to trim the edges on both before trying to line up. It was that technique I was looking for assistance. This is a old baby portrait of my wife that the picture was pasted to the hard card board, its the card board back ground edges that I need to get rid of.
How does one take a screen shot and then post it in these forums?
Thanks,
Rchjr

designwolf Mar 17, 2015 11:43 AM (in response to Rchjr56)Hi Rchjr56,
In order to take a screen shot, it depends on the type of computer you're using.
If you're using a Windows computer, you can follow this tutorial here:
3 Ways to Take a Screenshot in Microsoft Windows - wikiHowFor mac, you can press Command + Shift + 3 to take a picture of the whole screen.
How to take a screenshot with Mac OS X | iMore
To then post in the forums, click this button
Then click Choose File and search for your screenshot. Then click Insert Image
Hope this helps!

Standard Windows convention is the Print Screen key (for the entire screen; beware of multi-monitor setups; it'll get 'em all at once ). Alt + Print Screen takes a shot of the currently active window.
If you're using Windows 8 or 7 (I think it's in 7), there's the Snipping Tool which lets you take specific captures (rectangular and free-form as well as the standard full-screen and window captures).
ON EDIT: Forgot to add that there's a little camera icon at the top of the interface where you compose your message. Click it to add an image to your post.

Rchjr56 Mar 21, 2015 11:05 PM (in response to Warunicorn)Thanks for the responses everyone, I was on vacation and will be back at this again in the next few days and will post some screen shots. I can tell from one of the tutorials I did not take the right approach to this. Looks like I will be starting over.
Again, thanks

The scanner might still be your best bet. You'll get distortion using a camera, and different distortion on each piece. At least the scanner will keep things flat.

Rchjr56 Mar 22, 2015 1:02 PM (in response to Trevor.Dennis)Yes Trevor - I believe your right. Need to scan each individual piece and put them on their own layer. Then start putting the puzzle together.
Thanks for your response,
Rchrj
