This spelling "correction" also doesn't seem like a good fix. I undid it, but I did see you had marked it patrolled first - please look out for that :/

Things are better and it seems like you're learning a lot, which is great, but it's still essential that you skip anything you're not certain about, including new articles (unless you want to take on the responsibility of editing or templating them), so please patrol with that at the front of your mind. It's really important, and is the only way to keep tool access in the long run. Thanks GeGe!

Thank you for letting me know that you changed magick to magic in Keep Your Sanity in Eternal Darkness.

I had looked on Wikipedia for Eternal Darkness and found 11 instances of magick to three of magic. Since that was sort of inconclusive, I looked on the Eternal Darkness wiki and found twenty-five instances of magick to four of magic. That led me to go with magick.
Please let me know what you think we should do.

I am impressed that you looked further into the article and found another instance of magik. That is something I failed to do.

Sure GeGe, I took a look and did some follow-up:

• Here, adding tags seemed like a good idea, but I went a step further and nominated it for deletion. It doesn't seem like it covers all the steps right now. I also added a stub tag. You can see my edit here.
• Here your first fixes were good, but changing the image tag spelling breaks the image display. Scroll down and you'll see they've disappeared. I adjusted it here.
• On this edit you marked, it was a copyright violation, which I've attended to (you're probably best off just skipping those for now). But as is, the article probably qualifies as an {{nfd|inc|not}} as well, so I'll mark it as such.
• This edit you marked was good, but it's also a good chance to fix some other issues in the article, like the spacing and capitalization, like this.
• This edit looks overall good but it could use editing and stubbing, too, like this.

Those are my thoughts on this batch. Let me know if you have questions :)

Oh, no, you can definitely put NFD tags on - in fact, you'll often need to if you're patrolling. You just can't *remove* them. Does that help?

Thanks for the message. I'm not sure, but I think I once read that the word "Realtor" is supposed to be capitalized. Maybe it was a Realtor who wrote that. A Realtor is not the same thing as a real estate agent; it involves more education. But you don't capitalize "doctor" or "librarian," so I don't know what to think. It probably matters only to Realtors. At any rate, I have no objection to your edit.

I also noticed that you felt that the barrage of coaching messages spammed your talk page, so I wanted to keep my longish message from creating you more angst. It is just a little something to think about as you go down the road when you interact with others while patrolling.

By the way, the feelings that you spread around are very positive and make everyone feel great about what they are doing here. You can't give enough of the positive messages, really.

Well your being down about the situation is very understandable. Patrolling is not so easy as it might seem. As a matter of fact it is very challenging to get everything right as you come onboard. The good news is that it only gets easier and you only get better.

Bob once said that he skipped a lot of patrols and I found that hard to believe. I have always found him to be truthful, though, so I guess I have to go with whatever percentage he said he skipped. I can't really remember, but 30% sticks in my head. That is right in line with the number of patrols I skip—about one of every three.

Looks like you did the right thing with the warning. I'll remove the message from your page, and if they post again, we can block them, but for now they're not active, so it's better to just leave it. Sometimes no response is the best responses, or otherwise you end up encouraging the trolls :)

Sure - it sends you a notification when someone makes any edit your page, including a rollback, so you probably got a notification for the rollbacks of spam etc here. You can always check the history to see everyone who edited and make sure you didn't miss anything :)

Just wanted to give you two quick updates about patrolling!

First thing: You can now mark new articles as patrolled without adding templates or fixing them, if you want. We implemented a change which pretty much makes new articles "invisible" until they are boosted. You can learn more here: http://forums.wikihow.com/discussion/12783/step-1-of-operation-article-hatchery-de-indexing-new-articles-by-default/p1

Second thing: There's a bug in RC patrol right now that causes it to stall every 3-4 patrols sometimes. This is really frustrating and we're trying to fix it, but we still need to patrol edits and there's a way to get around it (described here).

You can often recognize this particular troll because he always uses the same picture for his avatar, and goes by the name "PiedPiper".

And ha! I guess it is (my nice way of asking for more work on the article you started)! What happened was I was boosting it, and I wanted to give it a rising star, but I felt like it needed to be more specific to the title to be a rising star. I figured I'd offer some feedback and not boost it, and if you expanded it, I could come back to it and give it that rising star :) I just put myself in the shoes of someone with red hair and figured, if that was me, I would want to read something that was specific to my hair type, since dying red hair and getting the right shade can be tricky (I only know this because my ex-boyfriend's mom was a hairdresser!).

Because Vaseline is really hard to remove from things, because I tried putting vaseline on my barbie but it's just really hard to get it off.

That was a good answer :) I'm not sure if you know this, but we implemented an indexing change in which articles are essentially invisible until approved through new article boost. The article also must not have any issues as pointed out by a template. No prob GeGe! Sometimes you get a notification when someone has rolled back a message on your talk page (ie they edited it, even if they didn't send a message). You can see a couple of these instances in your talk page history. So that might explain some of those.

But if you have a "1" (or more) notification that won't go away, it might be because you have a hidden unread notification in your list. Try going to the Notifications page here and scrolling down, loading all the notifications for a few weeks back. If you see a bold one in there, it was one that slipped by as "unread", and you probably need to view it there in the list in order to clear out your alert. Hopefully that'll help :)

It looks like you accidentally removed messages on my talk page with this edit and then sent a coaching note to this new person which must've confused her quite a bit, because all she did on my talk page is leave this question. I saw that she responded to you asking you what she did wrong....I hope you can reply to her letting know that you made a mistake, I don't want her to be discouraged :)

What probably happened is that her edit got bundled up with a few others, including mine, in which I cleared out my talk page after having answered all my messages. Maybe you thought a lot of content was getting wiped out? Either way - it happens pretty often on my talk page. I just wanted to give you a heads up!
