EditSteps
-
1Make sure your feet are flat on the floor. If you need to, adjust your position so you are comfortable with your stance. (Keep your feet behind the free throw line at ALL times!)Ad
-
2Dribble the ball a few times if needed. Relax your muscles and concentrate on breathing, and what you are doing.
-
3Take a deep breath, and exhale. Hold the ball the way you usually do when you shoot. Now shoot it, but when you do, make sure you extend your arm all the way, and flick your wrist to release.
-
4Aim for the white square on the basket. Aim for the very center if you do this while shooting anywhere else you'll almost never miss. Practice this until you get the hang of it, if you need to, you can change some stuff if it helps you. But this is the overall main things you need to focus on when doing free throws. Good luck, and don't forget to breathe!Ad
