Update broke usability
After the new 2.0.1, signal no longer answers incoming calls. You can not answer from the lock screen, every time you slide to answer the home screen appears and the app never opens and the call fails. Now, with the recent update, you can no longer call out using signal. Every time I try to call someone on my contacts list the app crashes. I am running signal on an iPhone 5 iOS 8.1. The app is now completely useless. Shame, as it was functioning decently on 2.0, answering on the lock screen still didn't function but at least you could call and use the app.
Unusable messenger
When in-app the messaging works really well and I haven't had any issues. However, if my phone is locked and a message arrives, the notification doesn't have any preview of the message. I cannot be bothered to open the app every time a new message comes in and until this is fixed I'm going to opt for closed-source fully functional end-to-end encryption in iMessage.
Missing the big picture.
Fancy new update - no security or privacy improvements. (1) Still can’t add contacts manually, (2) still can’t lock the app with secondary password, (3) still no fix for incoming call issues, (4) still have to use my real phone number to register. Don’t believe the 5-star fanboys that have clearly never used the app and are just there to boost ratings for the developer. Disappointing for a company like Whisper. Get it together guys.
