Chrome Beta for Android

The Chrome for Android Beta channel has been updated to 29.0.1547.40 and will be available in Google Play over the next few hours. This release has a number of crash fixes as well as the following main fixes:

260804: Touch is offset on Samsung Galaxy Note 8.0
261531: "More" button on Color Picker should look more like a button
265492: Replace “Learn More” link in Data Compression Proxy
263264: URL bar never hides on prerendered pages
226870: Add "+" for new tab to the left of the omnibox on phones (experimental)
256943: Scrolling is stuck on Google News.
257153: Not all touchMove events are sent to JS handler

Known issues:

259048: Some WebAudio pages crash
260440: [X86] Text gets duplicated when entering & unable to delete text in the text fields
252513: [WebRTC] Camera shows only black & white video not color for many low end devices
263808: ColorPicker - Add grid lines between colors in simple view
264966: [Note8] Black flashes while scrolling on a page that has a video being played

Chromecast Update

Today, we are pushing a bug fix update to Chromecast devices to improve performance, reliability and security. The update will roll out over the next few days and will happen automatically; users do not need to take any action.

Dev Channel Update for Chrome OS

The Dev channel has been updated to 30.0.1581.2 (platform version: 4476.0.0) for all Chrome OS devices. This release contains several improvements and bug fixes.

Known Issues:

Video glitches on on certain Flash sites. Workaround: Move cursor away from playing window reduces the glitches (263154).
Audio flaky when audio is playing on youtube and google voice search is used. (263549)
Internal microphone not working for Acer C7

Chrome for iOS Update

Chrome for iOS has been updated to 28.0.1500.16. This update contains improvements to embedded video playback on iOS 5.1 and other bug fixes. Stable Channel Update for Chrome OS

The Stable channel has been updated to 28.0.1500.95 for all Chrome OS devices (Platform version: 4100.86.0 for all devices). This build contains a number of stability and security improvements.

Stable Channel Update

The Stable channel has been updated to 28.0.1500.95 for Chrome Frame, Linux, Mac, and Windows.

Note: Access to bug details and links may be kept restricted until a majority of users are updated with a fix. This commonly occurs if the bug exists in a third party library that other projects similarly depend on, but haven’t yet fixed.

This update includes 11 security fixes. Below, we highlight some fixes that were either contributed by external researchers or particularly interesting. Please see the Chromium security page for more information.

Dev Channel Update for Chrome OS

The Dev channel has been updated to 30.0.1573.6 (platform version: 4443.3.0/4443.4.0 for cr-48) for all platforms except the Google Pixel, Samsung Chromebook Series 5 550, and Samsung Chromebox. This release contains a several updates and bug fixes.

Known Issues:

Beta Channel Release for Chrome OS

The Beta channel has been updated to 29.0.1547.32 (Platform version: 4319.32.0) for all Chrome OS devices. This build contains a number of bug fixes, security updates and feature enhancements. Systems will be receiving updates over the next several days.

Some highlights of these changes are:

Kernel 3.8 landed on Pixel and Samsung 550.
New “immersive” mode - hit the fullscreen button to hide the toolbar and shelf and until you hover at the top for a more immersive browsing experience
Pin apps to the shelf using Drag and Drop from the Launcher
Consumer Kiosk Mode allows you to build your own Chrome OS powered kiosk
Default wallpaper selection will sync across all your devices
Monitor Scaling allows you to scale the UI
Two-finger history navigation
App launcher Search just got cleverer

It will dynamically learn what you search for
Apps are more prominent
It will search within the web store if no matching app is installed

Chrome for iOS Update

The Chrome team is excited to announce Chrome 28 for iPhone and iPad. Chrome 28.0.1500.12 contains a number of new features including:

Improved interoperability with many other Google Apps
Voice Search enhancements
Fullscreen for iPad
Data usage savings (rolling out over time)
Access to browser history
Lots of stability improvements and other bug fixes

Stable Channel Update for Chrome OS

The Stable channel has been updated to 28.0.1500.68 for all Chrome OS devices (Platform version: 4100.68.0 for all devices except Cr-48, which was updated to 4100.78.0). This build contains a number of feature enhancements, bug fixes and security improvements. Machines will be receiving updates over the next several days.

Release Highlights:

Numerous crash fixes and performance improvements.
Speed improvements for the Files app, along with support for files that are Shared with me and Recent on Google Drive.
Monitor Rotation and Scaling - you can scale your UI smaller and rotate the screen on all Chromebooks.
Notification pop-up message appears when screenshots are taken. Clicking on the notification will bring you right to the screenshot.
Replaced the Japanese IME with a NaCl extension version downloads a better language model upon actual usage.
Added transliteration IMEs for Indic languages from Google Input Tools.
Touch link highlighting on Chromebook Pixel - we now provide feedback on which link you click or button you press.
Updated Chrome Office Viewer (Beta) extension
Pepper Flash updated to 11.8.800.94

Known issues:

On Acer C7 Chromebooks, docked mode has been disabled when connecting to an external monitor.

Chrome for Android Update

The Chrome team is excited to announce the promotion of Chrome 28 to the Stable channel. Chrome for Android 28.0.1500.64 contains a number of new features including:

Google Translate - When reading web pages in other languages, Chrome will automatically detect and offer to translate them to your language
Fullscreen on tablets - Similar to phones, simply scroll down the page and the toolbar will disappear.
New user interface for right-to-left (RTL) languages - An optimized interface for RTL languages including Arabic, Farsi, and Hebrew
Plenty of stability and performance fixes
