KeyCDN is a content delivery network (CDN) developed in Switzerland.[1][2] The core focus is on web acceleration and streaming (VOD and live streaming).[3] The company was founded in 2012 and is privately owned.[4] KeyCDN developed its own content delivery platform and it's not based on a reselling CDN (no white label CDN). KeyCDN POPs are located in SSAE 16 compliant data centers operated by Equinix, Softlayer and other infrastructure providers. For traffic routing, KeyCDN is using a combination of IP Anycast, geolocation routing including EDNS client subnet support and latency based routing (LBR) to determine the optimal connection between client and edge server.[5][6] The company is notable for being one of the first CDN that offered one global traffic price for all regions.[7][8] KeyCDN is one of the first CDN offering also Custom SSL for free.[9]

The direct competitors of KeyCDN are Amazon CloudFront, MaxCDN and CacheFly.[10]
