Biography
Louise Smyth joined the IPO as a training manager in 1992, and has worked in a number of different corporate services areas within the office. She was appointed Head, Human Resources and Corporate Services in 2005 and in 2008 she became Business Support Director.
Louise was appointed director of IT, responsible for ensuring that the IT infrastructure of the IPO was being used effectively by all employees and departments.
In August 2013, Louise returned to the corporate services area when she was appointed Director of People, Places & Services
In June 2014, Louise became acting Chief Operating Officer, responsible for Corporate Services – IT, People, Places and Services and Finance

This role is responsible for human resources, organisational development and office services within the IPO.
Chief Operating Officer, IPO
The chief operating officer is responsible for the operation of corporate services within the IPO.
