Spring into action

Spring into action – what’s your style?

Spring is a great time to get active. But how do you start? Our friends at Bluearth suggest the best way to build physical activity into our lives is to choose something we enjoy. And it doesn’t have to be playing a team sport or becoming a gym member. Whether you like to do a workout to a DVD at home or getting outside to walk the dog, if the activity is fun, we’re more likely to stick to it.

Other things to consider include:
  • Activity style – do you like structure or a more casual approach?
  • Do you like to exercise alone, in a team or with a friend? Maybe you like to mix it up.
  • What are your health goals?
  • Are you an indoor or outdoor person?
  • What can you afford?
  • How is your current health and level of fitness?
  • What are the pros and cons of different types of physical activities?

Don’t forget, before starting any form of exercise see your doctor for a check-up especially if you are over 40, overweight, suffer from a chronic medical condition or haven’t exercised for a while.
