Status[edit | edit source]
[edit status] • [add new]
Wikimedia took part in Google Code-in 2014, a contest for 13-17 year old pre-university students. In those seven weeks, 48 students successfully completed 226 Wikimedia tasks, supported by 30 mentors from the community.
Five out of seven FOSS Outreach Program for Women/Round 9 interns passed the mid-term check-point (Roxana and Priyanka are still under evaluation). You can check their weekly reports:
- Neta Livneh: Wikipedia article translation metrics weekly reports.
- Roxana Necula: Wikipedia article translation metrics weekly reports.
- Priyanka Jayaswal: Pywikibot: Compat to core migration weekly reports.
- Anke Nowottne: Wikipedia Education Program need-finding research weekly reports.

Rationale[edit | edit source]
The Wikimedia Foundation, and the MediaWiki community, want to encourage new and intermediate contributors to grow their skills, spread knowledge around the community to improve bus factor, and give more senior contributors a leadership opportunity.
