Here is some advice for athletes about how to deal with a referee who is making bad calls during a game.

EditSteps

  1. 1
Do not draw too much attention to yourself. The referee will notice you have stopped trying to get his/her attention and will likely keep an eye on you subconsciously as the referee is waiting on you to call again.
  2. 2
Do not argue with a referee, this will surely lead to calls being made against you if the referee feels threatened by you. Additionally, calls can rarely be overturned and even when they can be, arguing with the referee is not the proper procedure to challenge a call.
  3. 3
Comply then complain. If the game is being managed properly there should be a board of persons who you can appeal charges to in hopes of changing decisions after a game. Athletic groups do keep track of which referees are considered fair and which are not.
