Oops! It looks like you accidentally added a less helpful tip while working on Tips Patrol just now. That's okay though; you're still learning, and it can be tricky at first!

If you haven't already, read our article on How to Use the Tips Patrol Tool on wikiHow and give it another try! If you have any questions about adding tips, don't hesitate to reach out to the Help Team. And remember, if you're not sure what to do, just press the "skip" button and you'll do fine :)

Hey Matthew!

I saw you adding some really thoughtful tips out of Tips Patrol and just wanted to say thanks! Not going to lie: I know there are a lot of low quality tidbits in there, so you must be really taking the time to fix them up ready for publishing. Nicely done! Have you got a lot of editing experience?

Welcome to the community - hope you're enjoying it so far!

Thanks for sharing Caculate a GPA Percentage with Regular, PAP and/or AP Classes!

I'm pretty sure people will enjoy your advice and learn a thing or two from it!

I'm pretty sure you've already read this article, but I thought you might want to take another look at Calculate GPA. On wikiHow, we like to have all the information on one article, so that people would get high quality advice no matter what article they click on! I looked at it, and I thought that you might like to edit it and add in some of your input.

If there's anything you need to fix, then feel free to dive in and edit the article!

I hope to see you around on wikiHow!

Oh nice - I'm really glad you signed up! Did something in particular inspire you to? Always neat to have editors with experience on other wikis diving in here - how are your experiences comparing so far?

Tips Patrol is definitely a neat way to get your feet wet, but with your kind of editing experience, don't be afraid to be bold and jump in with some of the other Community Dashboard editing tools, too :)

Understandable! You can find your email preferences here and either tweak them or unsubscribe altogether :)

I also redirected the Caculate a GPA Percentage with Regular, PAP and/or AP Classes page like you requested. Thanks for putting the advice into the existing article and helping it grow!

Oops! It looks like you accidentally approved a bad edit in while patrolling recent changes just now. That's okay though; you're still learning. I undid a batch of your recent patrols, to play it safe and have those edits reviewed again. I just want to make sure no bad edits were accepted while you're still learning your way around RC patrol.

If you haven't already, read our article on How to Patrol Recent Changes and give it another try! I'm happy to answer any questions you might have about patrolling. And remember, if you're not sure what to do, just press the "skip" button and you'll do fine :)

Hey again Matthew! Saw you diving into patrolling and wondered if you had any questions so far? I know it can be confusing at first, so skipping anything you're not sure of is generally a good way to go, but if I can offer any advice about what to mark or what to rollback, I'm happy to help. Cheers for lending a hand!

Hey Matthew, thanks for adding that helpful method to Calculate GPA. Quick question - On a scale of 1 to 5, with 1 being that the article is in horrible shape and 5 being that the instructions work perfectly, what would you rate the article? If it is inaccurate, we would love to take in your feedback and give the article the improvement it needs :)

No prob, Matthew - sorry about the crazy days! There's never any obligation to participate or reply in certain time frame though, so no worries - a lot of folks dip in and out here, no big deal :)

Sorry that the Coach wasn't helping! In general, the goal is the "mark" any helpful edits, "rollback" any unhelpful ones, and "quick edit" or provide "quick notes" in places where an article might need a little editing or where you want to ask someone about their edit (or thank them for it, or let them know it went against one of our policies). Have you checked out How to Patrol Recent Changes yet? It has some really good advice about what to do with different kinds of edits - I found it handy when I started! Here are the basics out of that article for you, in case they're helpful:

  • Article edits: If they're accurate and helpful additions, keep them. If they're vandalism or involve unnecessary inclusions of brand names or external links, roll them back. If they are helpful but are not in wikiHow style, format, or the edit contains mistakes, do a Quick Edit to fix the edit.
  • Articles that need a ton of work: If you see an article with a lot of mistakes in it, you can use Quick Edit to fix them up, or you can add templates for further editing.
  • Talk pages: Generally, messages between talk pages that aren't vandalism or abuse are fine, too. You can mark them as patrolled, most of the time.
  • Discussion pages: Generally, most comments here are fine to patrol, but if you see obvious or repeat spamming, abusive or offensive content, you can remove it.

If you have any questions about those guidelines, though, let me know - would be happy to help with more specifics!

Thanks for the Article Review team note, Matthew! In general it looks like it's off to a great start - nice sleuthing with the addresses and all! And keeping safe and legal is definitely important, so I like the emphasis there :)

In general, articles are more likely to be approved quickly if they're written as a step-by-step how-to, where each step ideally is an action for the reader to take, starting with a verb. Do you think you might be game to edit it a little more in that format? Some of our existing articles on Contacting Celebrities, like How to Contact Justin Bieber, might provide some inspiration on that front!

Thank you for writing a new article on wikiHow. Your effort is very much appreciated. Unfortunately, there was some information in your article (How to Contact Rihanna) that I wasn't able to confirm, so it was nominated for deletion due to its accuracy.

But don't worry, a nomination for deletion doesn't guarantee that it will be deleted. You can still edit the article to improve it. The best way to ensure the article's accuracy is to research the topic, and then cite your sources.

After making these improvements, you should mention that you've fixed these accuracy problems on the discussion page. That way, the person who reviews the nomination for deletion will see what you've done to improve the page and possibly decide not to delete it.

Thanks again for contributing here, and let me know if there's any way I can help you out.

Thank you for you calm reaction. I greatly appreciate it! :)

It's nominated for not a how-to? That's strange....I nominated it for accuracy issues. Let me fix it.

Nicolas Wolfe said:

It's all better now. Sorry for the confusion. XD

Don't worry, you still have 1-3 weeks to save it, and I'm willing to help you. Plus, even if we don't get it in the time limit, boosters might not vote to delete it.

Hey there, nice work fixing up Contact Rihanna. If User:OoT2D thinks the accuracy issues have been fixed, I'd be happy to remove the nomination for deletion (only admins can). Let me know :)

Hi Matthew. I think it's fairly accurate now. Great job. I do not have the right to remove NFD tags, so you would have to talk to an admin like Krystle. :)

Yeah, licensing is the main issue. We also typically don't display images in the introduction, so by default images won't show up until you hit the Steps section or below.

For help adding images, just check out How to Put a Photo in a wikiHow Article; it's pretty easy! You can import your own images (ones you've taken or created, or know the license for), or you can use the images you find from Flickr and Wikimedia in the image upload tool (you'll see a spot to search for them). Those ones are freely licensed, so they're fair game to use here :)

Hey again,

Hope you don't mind, I made a few more formatting edits on the Rihanna article - check them out here. I hope you like them! If you have any concerns, let me know - and don't worry if you don't like them; nothing on a wiki is irreversible :)

Anna said:

Well, generally, we don't allow "Resources" or "Further Reading" links, or links that go to general home pages like that - they're not really "sources" or "citations" in that case, you know? We only allow links that serve as a specific source or citation for information added to the page. That's why I included only that relevant address link, not the Twitter/Facebook/etc homepages. I wouldn't worry too much about sources on this article though - you have a source for the address, and the other social media aspects are pretty easy to verify by going to the sites, so I don't think they need sources :)
