I noticed that you have recently contributed an article to wikiHow, which is great! Contributing new articles to wikiHow is one of the best ways to help wikiHow to succeed. Unfortunately, it appears that the article you submitted might come from a copyrighted source found elsewhere. It appears to be very similar to an article on another website:
http://yeminhtay.blogspot.com/2014/02/how-to-crack-wifi-password-for-beginner.html
If you are the original author / copyright holder and are sharing it willingly, please reply to this message and provide confirmation that you are giving permission for it to be posted here. Then I can make a note of that in the article.
If you don't confirm that you are the original author, we will unfortunately need to delete the page. You're welcome to use outside sources to help you write wikiHow articles - you just need to reword them and provide attributions for the ideas. Thanks for your understanding and your contributions here!

Okay then. I think you caught a mistake in our copyvio check bot's system. The bot checks for copyright violations on articles and chose the above site in question, with me not realizing it was a mistake. I'll see what I can do about the bot.

Hey there,
This is a follow-up on your article, How to Hack Protected Hotspots. At times, the Copyvio Bot may detect the wrong website, thus editors checking on them needs to verify if the link provided is the correct source. I noticed that a hefty amount of information derives from http://www.binarydose.com/2014/09/crack-wifi-password.html and http://mods-n-hacks.wonderhowto.com/how-to/crack-wi-fi-passwords-for-beginners-0139793/, and www.hindustanicyberarmy.blogspot.com/2013/10/cracking-wep-key-of-wireless-networks.html, word for word, and unfortunately, this would be considered plagiarism :\
If you would like to, I can offer more time for you to rewrite the article in its entirety in your own words, so no information is the same to other websites, and provide the link used as a resource source. The wikiHow article can also be deleted if chosen as well. Let me know!

Heya,
Thank you for your contribution. I am informing you that one of your recent articles ("How to Create Google Account Without Cellphone") is not consistent with our commercial guidelines for full publication. Here are some things to keep in mind:
- A wikiHow article must be written in an objective and neutral style. Promotional/marketing language is carefully vetted on this site. If an article reads like an infomercial or an advertisement for products or services, it is not a how-to. Articles with this express purpose will usually be deleted.
- Further reading or recommendations links are not allowed on article pages without good reason, and promoting a product or service is not a good reason. You can add a link to your website on your profile. Promotional or advertising links posted serially throughout wikiHow will be removed and added to our spam blacklist, preventing their future addition.
- If an article is about how to use a specific product, you must put the name of that product in the title. (Good: How to Edit an Image Using Photoshop, Bad: How to Edit an Image). If the page is about a generic topic, avoid brand names. You must still avoid using promotional or marketing language in the article.
- An article focused on a product or service in a manner that appears promotional is unlikely to pass wikiHow's quality review process and become visible in search. While it can still be shared with others through its URL, if desired, this link will cease to work should the article be deleted for lack of compliance with our guidelines.
- Accounts that post several articles promoting the same sites and products repeatedly may get blocked and their articles deleted. Repeated attempts to post promotional articles will be considered a breach of the goodwill of this site and will not be tolerated.
If you have any questions, send me a message. I'd be happy to help you learn more about contributing constructively on wikiHow.

You know, I've always been pretty confused about that. I believe that when wikiHow looks at your search, it doesn't look at the entire name as a whole, it just focuses on certain key words. This is because most searches are something like "concussion" or "tap dance", not actual article titles. So, most likely, it just focused on the main key words in your search and pulled up results that were relevant to those key words, rather than looking at the entire title and pulling that up. Like, when I search for Send a Letter to Girls Love Mail, it pulls up results like Write a Love Letter to a Girl You Do Not Know because just looking at the keywords alone, that is the most relevant. Does that make sense?

Oh, very cool! Was that your idea, or your tutor's?
Have you checked out How to Patrol Recent Changes yet? It has some really good advice about what to do with different kinds of edits - I found it handy when I started! Here are the basics out of that article for you, so that you can read them over before you do more patrolling:
- Article edits: If they're accurate and helpful additions, keep them. If they're vandalism or involve unnecessary inclusions of brand names or external links, roll them back. If they are helpful but are not in wikiHow style, format, or the edit contains mistakes, do a Quick Edit to fix the edit.
- New articles: If there's a blank space on the lefthand side, instead of an old version of the article, it means it's a new article. If there are mistakes in it, you can use Quick Edit to fix them up, add templates for further editing, or if you're not sure what needs fixing, just go ahead and skip them for now. New articles can be especially tricky!
- User pages: Most edits here are okay. Only roll-back or question the edit if it's clearly vandalism or contains abusive content.
- Talk pages: Generally, messages between talk pages that aren't vandalism or abuse are fine, too. You can mark them as patrolled, most of the time.
- Discussion pages: Generally, most comments here are fine to patrol, but if you see obvious or repeat spamming, abusive or offensive content, you can remove it.
I hope you stick around and keep having fun editing! Let me know if I can help as you find your feet :)

Thanks for helping out with Tips Patrol. Some of those tips which people have submitted are not written in very good English. So when you see a tip which is otherwise good, (provides good information not already found in the article), you can clean up the spelling, punctuation and capitalization right there in the edit box before you click publish.

That's excellent. The other thing we want to guard against is wikiBloat, which is the adding of generic information that could fit with any article. Long missives and short reminders along the lines of "be yourself" come up a lot, and of course the ever-present Have Fun!!!!

The topics that are potentially illegal are always tricky. Per our wikiHow:Deletion Policy, our standard is generally whether something is illegal pretty much everywhere or not- so if you can find information about the technique not being illegal in some countries or situations, then you might want to post that on the discussion page. The Admins and Boosters reviewing the nomination will take any comments there into account when they vote. I hope it works out!

If you're game to patrol more, the best first approach is to check out How to Patrol Recent Changes - reading that over all the way through, and watching the video at the bottom, is really helpful. Then it's a good idea to read over our Writer's Guide, formatting guidelines, and External Links Policy, too, since a lot of those guidelines become important in patrolling. After you check all those out and feel confident about the patrolling best practices, would you mind shooting me an email at [email protected]? Then I can send you a few practice examples to get you off on the right foot before we restore the tool for you.
If you want to edit in other ways or user other tools, of course, that's a-okay, too! There are tons of ways to help :)

Heya Josiah,
I came across Surf the Internet Without Your Parents Knowing – thanks for making such a great start! I did realize while reading it that we already have a page on that topic: Browse Internet Websites Without Your Parents Knowing. Are you familiar with our merge policy yet? You’ve got some great tips, but generally, since we're a collaborative site, multiple articles on the same topic end up getting deleted or merged, so I wanted to let you know about the other article. Your best bet might actually be to add your advice to that page instead. More people will see your input there – you’ll be helping readers out, and if you add the information yourself, your username will show up on the list of authors! What do you think?
Thanks again for taking the time to start an article! If you have questions about this, let me know - I'd be happy to help!

It's not really about steps or methods matching -- on wikiHow, we all work together to make the best articles we can on each given topic, instead of adding new articles on topics that have already been written. That way, readers get the best possible information all in one place.
So if you've got an idea for an article, the best thing to do is search for it in the search box at the top of the page, or look in the category where it would be listed. If the article already exists, you can still add all your great advice to it! You can write new steps or tips, or even add a whole alternative method. If there's no article on your topic yet, then it's a great time to start one.
I've marked the article as a possible duplicate for now, and it'll be reviewed and voted on by Admins and Boosters. If you think your topics are actually different, please do post on the Discussion Page to explain why. The folks reviewing the removal will take your thoughts there into account :)

I saw your new guide on How to Recover a Lost Product Key from Your Windows Operating System. Cool - I didn't know there was a program to do that for you! Thanks for sharing the method here :)
I was wondering - do you have any more methods to go about that kind of recovery? For example, if someone doesn't want to install a third party app, or if they want some choices? It'd be awesome to get a few different approaches in there. What do you think?

That's awesome to hear! The test can be tricky, but if you study up on the policies, I'm sure you'll do well. The best advice I have is to know the wikiHow:Merge Policy through and through :)

Hello,
I noticed you've been adding links to wikiHow. Since you're a relatively new editor here, I thought I would explain a bit about our External Links policy.
Generally, we don't allow "Resources" or "Further Reading" links. We only allow attribution links, or links that serve as a specific source or citation for information added by editors who made significant improvement to a page. Any other kind of link usually gets deleted, and people who keep adding them regardless of our policy usually get blocked. For more details, you should definitely read How to Publicize Yourself the Right Way on wikiHow.
I hope this makes sense! If you have any questions about this policy, please let me know. I'd be happy to help.

Hey Josiah,
To be promoted, I'm not sure Get a Absolutely Free VPN meets our Brand Name Guidelines. For example, maybe the title should be "Download Web Freer" but even then it still sounds a bit like an ad for that product.
The other articles is fine, though, so I fixed "adds" to "ads" in the title and now it's fully public :)

Hey Josiah!
I took a look over the list you posted on the Article Review Team page - thanks for getting them out there :)
Most of them I went ahead and promoted, woo! I made a few minor changes on this one to comply a little closer with our External Links Policy (we try to avoid in-text linking that's not for a reference/citation, unless it's absolutely necessary for the steps - and even then, some linking isn't allowed if it comes off as promoting a particular brand or product). Thanks for sharing some awesome tech guides :)
For the admin article, I did go ahead and mark it as a merge candidate for Act as a wikiHow Admin; they seem to cover the same topic, since the goal of how any admin acts is to be a good one? What do you think?
For Recover a Lost Product Key from Your Windows Operating System, Edit Partitions in Windows XP with MiniTool Partition Wizard, and Get a Absolutely Free VPN, I'm not sure that as they stand they fully comply with our commercial policies. It's great you want to get some good tech advice out to readers, but generally we try to avoid publishing guides that come off like they're promoting a particular product under a neutral title. The MiniTool folks have actually been spamming us for some time, too, so that adds to my concern that it's likely to come off promotional to readers :/ -- Maybe you can expand those articles to include different approaches or more neutral steps, too? What do you think?
