EditSteps
-
1Start your computer and enter BIOS.
- Function key examples would be: F2, F10, F12, Delete, or ESC keys.
-
2Remain on the BIOS screen for 20 minutes. If your computer remains in the BIOS screen and you do not hear a "beeping" sound, there are no issues with your hardware. It means there is an issue with your software. Also, if your PC exits the BIOS menu automatically, it means that there is an issue with your hardware, and not with software.
-
3Find the correct solution.
- If there is issue with the software, reinstall your OS. You can also ghost it or recover it.
- If there is issue with hardware then analyze the symptoms.
- If the display is not coming up, check the VGA cable and the monitor on another computer. #Clean the RAM, the RAM slots, and short the CMOS battery. Lastly, open the CPU fan and open the processor socket. Be very careful when you clean it.
-
4If the display is still not powering up, check the motherboard for a hardware defect such as blown capacitors, a broken inductor coil, etc. You might identify an issue with the motherboard.
-
5If your PC is not powering up, check the power source and cable. You can also short the green and black pins of supply connector.
