Hi Leafie. Thank you for starting a new article on wikiHow!

I noticed that a title you started (How to Create Turkey Supper) is very similar to a title we already have: How to Prepare a Turkey Dinner. It looks like they might be duplicates! On wikiHow, we consider two articles to be duplicates when their titles are practically interchangeable (even if the content is different). When we find a duplicate, we then work to make sure all the information ends up consolidated on one page, typically the one with the simpler, more commonly searched title. That way, our readers can find everything about that particular topic in one place.

If you agree that the title you started is a duplicate, you can help by adding your how-to advice to the other page. The duplicate page will likely get removed in about a week, and we don't want to lose all the great information you provided. If you don't think your article is actually a duplicate, feel free to leave a note on the discussion page (which you can find here) explaining why, and let me know, too. Sometimes we make mistakes, and we definitely don't want to delete it if it is different!

Hi Leafie. Nice doggie profile pic. 🐕 Thanks for your edits on Paint a Great Sunset. Colour is how color is spelt in lots of English speaking countries around the world outside of the US. It's no problem that you changed it in the article at all. If you see it again though, you can ignore or, or, check to see if it's written more than once in the article and just make sure it's all colour or color and not a mix. I hope that makes sense. I noticed that you've been chatting back and forth a lot on talk pages with other people on wikiHow. It's great that you're making friends on wikiHow, but if you're talking a lot about non-wikiHow stuff, could you please move the conversation over to somewhere else? Try reading How to Find Alternatives to Chatting on wikiHow for ideas.

The reason why I'm asking this is because every time you post on someone's talk page, that edit needs to get reviewed by the volunteer editors on the site, which creates a lot of extra work for us. It can be tiresome to review many messages going back and forth between two people, particularly if those messages don't have anything to do with wikiHow.

RC Patrolling is where you look through recent changes to wikiHow. If there is vandalism on an article, you revert it. If it is a good, positive edit, then you mark it as patrolled. If you are unsure about an edit, skip it. I'm not an expert, so I would ask an admin about using a tool to help you practice. You can go to RC Patrol by looking under the Help Us tab. It's right beneath Patrol Tips.

I saw you post messages on the forums and talk pages that say things are unnecessary. The talk messages you just posted were about what users were doing to their profile, like the message you sent to me. They could change their own profile if they want to.

For the forum thread you posted on, you said it wasn't needed either. There has to be a consensus if that article would have to be deleted or not, so there has to be a forum post to see if people agree on it or not, so it is necessary.

Are you referring to the block template? It's this one: {{blocked}}. Please note that only admins are allowed to use this template. Using the template for to mislead others into thinking they're "blocked" is against policy.

As for the meetup in Montreal, it's not just staff members. Anyone who's an active member of the community can be considered for a subsidy for their place tickets and hotel room. Not all people who wants to go can, however, and anyone under 18 will need to have a parent or other adult accompanying them. :)

Hey! I saw that several people have tried to coach you on your behaviour in the forums and thought I'd touch base with you.

Is there a reason you want a few discussions to be closed, namely this and this? These are legitimate discussions made by people concerned about articles and are seeking advice from other community members. Unless the topic has already been addressed and the discussion is going nowhere, we keep these kinds of discussions open.

As for your forum games, these are being closed because we already have a Vending Machine game. We can't have multiple threads on the same topic because it'll become complicated. Also, just to clarify, only admins can close threads. Snowy isn't an admin so she wasn't closing your threads; she was only enforcing our guidelines and requesting closure.

Also, I have noticed you seem to be chatting quite a bit rather than focused on our mission. To echo Scarlette's message above, we try to discourage chatting about topics not related to wikiHow because every edit needs to go through Recent Changes Patrol and it creates a lot of work for our volunteer patrollers who need to review all of your messages. Why not look for other ways to socialize or, if you're interested in contributing towards our mission, find ideas to help out?

Quite a bit of people have tried have tried to coach you, both on the forums and on your talk page. Being coached by others doesn't show stupidity or weakness; it's a way of learning from your mistakes and becoming a better contributor.

Your discussions are being closed because, as I explained, we can't have duplicate discussions on existing ones. There's already a Vending Machine game, which makes your discussions unnecessary. The block I gave you was due to your comments towards other people, not because of your discussions.

A thread is another term for forum discussion.

What makes you think these discussions are not appropriate? The people who started them have legitimate concerns about articles and are looking for advice from other people on how the articles should be handled. It's actually encouraged to ask for community input on something you don't know. Also, I'm not trying to make people think you're dumb... you aren't dumb in the first place ;)

Patrolling is not the only thing you can do here. Why don't you check out the Video Adder?

Hi Leafie! Yes, I have. She went to my high school.

Nope, haven't interviewed her. She's a bit rude and distant in real life, a lot of people hated her during high school. And she's older than me anyways, so I never had the chance to talk to her.

I'm not her friend, since I'm not fond of her, and the age difference. I know her sister though- she's slightly temperamental.

Um, I don't really find swearing rude. She's just distant and I think she thinks she's better than everyone else. Also- she's always been really, really rich. Which means the meaning of "Royals" doesn't apply to her at all. She lives in one of the wealthiest suburbs in my city, so I find that a bit uncomfortable.

Royals is about being poor but being happy anyways. She talks about how her town is ugly- really, it's very beautiful and considered a tourist attraction, which feels like she's lied. I like some of her music, but I don't think she's a very nice person. But, feel free to make your own judgments

You are entirely correct. The delay is a function of the Vanilla forums software, your browser, and your internet connection speed, but is primarily a Vanilla forums issue which the wikiHow engineers have no control over. This is a known issue and has been mentioned in this recent forums thread.
