EditSteps
EditMethod 1 of 8: Clean up your act.
-
1Take a nice long shower or bath with lots of soap and moisturizer.
-
2Clean underneath your fingernails and behind your ears and shampoo your hair. It'll make you feel a lot better.
EditMethod 2 of 8: Address your "flaws"
-
1Ask yourself what you're insecure about. Whether it's your stomach, your thighs, or your freckles, you need to stand up to it once and for all and ask yourself if it's really noticeable--or if it's just your insecurities getting bigger than life in the mirror.
-
2Don't try to hide them or cover them up; remember, the point isn't to make them invisible, but to not care about them at all.
-
3Tell yourself, "You're beautiful!" Even if it feels forced, repeat it until it feels at least a little natural.
EditMethod 3 of 8: Get a good bra.
-
1A good bra can make or break an outfit. Self conscious about small breasts? Get a push up bra (nothing too ridiculously padded, though!) Always feeling like they're too big and making you awkward? Get a comfy t shirt bra. Whatever shape or size, show off what you have.
EditMethod 4 of 8: Determine your style.
-
1Are you athletic? Gothic? Diva? Or just casual? Figure out what your approach is going to be, and make your clothes work accordingly. If you can buy new clothes, do it. Whatever you choose, make it daring. Bad body image makes you want to hide and be invisible. To beat it you need to put yourself out there completely and rock it. If you're small breasted, a low cut shirt and a push up bra can make a huge difference, too.
EditMethod 5 of 8: Get your hair and makeup game on.
-
1If you haven't had your hair trimmed, in a while, get it done. If you want to get a new haircut, like a cute bob or a pixie, then go for it.
-
2Do your nails. If you're not good with the polish, just clean and file them, or add a coat of clear nail polish to make them shine. Don 't do anything too complicated or messy, just do what you know you can rock.
-
3If you're not one for makeup, don't go out of your comfort zone, but a little eyeliner can go a long way. A bright shade of lipstick, applied well, can give you a bold look that you might like. If you're constantly hiding behind a layer of makeup, take it off. Clean your face with cetaphil or lotion, and then apply the raw basics such as eyeliner, lipstick, or mascara- a little goes a long way. Avoid foundation that you cover up your entire face with.
EditMethod 6 of 8: Shoes are important.
-
1If heels are your style, go for them. The extra height can give you new confidence and they never fail to make your legs and butt look nice. If not, then get a pair of sneakers or other shoes that are cute, noticeable, and comfortable. The important thing is to feel good in them.
EditMethod 7 of 8: Accessorize.
-
1You don't have to shine like the sun, but a nice pair of earrings or a necklace, or even a dangly bracelet can make a huge difference. Pick something you know you like.
EditMethod 8 of 8: Walk with confidence!
-
1Walk like a supermodel and go forth with the knowledge that you look just fine.
