Two Parts:Downloading and Installing Lexar Image Rescue 5Recovering Photos and Videos

Lexar Image Rescue 5 enables you to recover most photo and common video files from any memory card or device. You may have some photos or videos that have been lost or accidentally deleted, and you can use this software to recover them. Although it’s created by Lexar, the software can recover from any brand of memory card or device. The software’s not free though, as it currently costs $33.99.

Part 1 of 2: Downloading and Installing Lexar Image Rescue 5

    Go to the download page. Visit http://www.lexar.com/imagerescue from any web browser.

    Download the software. Click the “Download for Windows” link to begin downloading the setup file.

    Install the software. Look for the “imagerescue5.exe” file using the file browser in your computer, and double-click it. This will run the setup for Image Rescue. Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the installation.

Part 2 of 2: Recovering Photos and Videos

    Launch Image Rescue. Click on the Start menu and look for the program under All Programs. Click on it.

    Insert a memory card. Plug in the memory card or device that contains the photos and videos you want to recover to your computer. The software will automatically detect the new memory card.

    Select the memory card. All the memory cards and devices connected to your computer will be listed by the software on its main screen. Click on the card you want to recover.

    Start a scan. Click on the “Scan” button found on the lower right corner. The scan will begin immediately.

    Wait for the scan to complete. The progress will be displayed on the screen via a progress bar. Wait for it to complete.

    View files to be recovered. When the scan is completed, the photos and videos that can be recovered will be displayed in thumbnails. Scroll through them and see what you can recover.

    Select files. Click on the thumbnails of the files you want to recover. The selected files will then be marked with a check.
    • Select All. There’s a “Select All” button on the bottom bar. Click on it if you want to select all the files displayed. All the files will then be marked with a check.
    • Deselect All. Click on the “Deselect All” button on the bottom bar to clear the selection. All the files will not have any check marks.

    Recover files. When your selection is done, click the “Recover” button found on the lower right corner.

    Define the destination folder. A dialog box will appear with your file directory. Navigate through your folders and select the destination folder where the recovered files will be stored. Click the “Select Folder” button, and the selected files will be put in this folder.

    Close the software. When your recovery is done, click the “Done” button on the lower left corner. Click the “X” button on the header bar to exit the software.

    View recovered files. Go to your destination folder and view the files you’ve just recovered.
    • You now have your lost or deleted photos and videos back.
