Everyone who runs a Windows Vista PC who has access to a wireless network should already know how to configure new networks. However, few people know about the ways to remove these networks. Whether it's been a saved network for a few years (from a former wireless router that is no longer used and able to be accessed) or only a few minutes, it's possible to be removed. This article should be your informative guide to get you to be able to remove this network. Follow along from Step 1 below to learn this method for when a removal of a wireless network is needed.

Steps

  1. 1
Open the wireless networking control panel options button. Single click the Internet button from the bottom right corner of your Windows taskbar and click Networking and Sharing Center.
    • The Network and Sharing Center is also able to be accessed through the Control Panel. Open Control Panel, type Network in the search box at the top of that dialog box and click "Network and Sharing Center".

  2. 2
Look for a bar on the left side that displays several options and click the "Manage wireless networks" option from that bar. It should be the third option from the top below the "Tasks" heading.
    • If using the substep from Step 1 above (open control panel, type network in the search box), without clicking "Network and sharing Center" you can directly click "Manage wireless networks" right from the pair of options you would normally have seen in the left corner column of the Network and Sharing Center dialog box and bypass the Network and Sharing Center dialog box altogether.
  3. 3
Look for the wireless network you've saved that you'd like to delete from the page and right-click the network name.
  4. 4
Click the "Remove network" option in the drop-down list that is displayed.
  5. 5
Confirm that you'd like to proceed with this removal. Click the "OK" button on the dialog box that displays.
  6. 6
Wait for the network to go away. It should only take a few seconds to disappear.
