EditJoin Our Mission
Anyone can edit and improve an article!
Click on one of the “edit” links to fix mistakes, incorporate your own steps and tips, or even add a whole new method or section to the advice.
EditEditing Is Easy
It's easy to edit!
Start each new instructional step on a new line. Begin the line with a # to make a numbered step and a #* to make a substep with a bullet point.
In the Tips, Warnings, and other non-step sections, you can use a * to make a bullet point, too.

EditYour wikiHow Journey Starts Here
Here are some ideas to help on your way:
- Write an article. If you've got an idea for a new how-to topic, search to see whether there's already an article started on it. If not, write it! Make sure to read the wikiHow Writer's Guide first.
- Improve an article. If an article on your idea already exists in our how-to categories, you can still help make it better - join in the collaborative spirit!
- Check for spelling errors, fix grammar mistakes, or expand a short article to help keep quality high.
- Use our Community Dashboard tools to make articles more helpful: patrol tips, categorize articles, add videos, check "finished product" pictures, and more!
- Set up your profile and user page to tell others a little about yourself and your areas of interest and expertise!
- Want to settle in quickly? Look up unfamiliar terms in our glossary, and ask questions of experienced editors.
