Our new app guidelines, based on our Trademark Policy, make it easier than ever to use Wikimedia Foundation trademarks and content in apps. The guidelines are accessible and clearly lay out practical examples for app developers to encourage innovation using Wikimedia material

Developers from around the world gathered last month in Lyon, France for the Wikimedia Hackathon 2015. Here are some of the highlights of this edition of the annual event, which invited coders to develop new features, software and tools to make editing and reading wiki projects more enjoyable and effective.

The annual Wikimedia conference, Wikimania, will be coming to Mexico City this July 15-19, co-organized by Wikimedia Mexico and the Wikimedia Foundation. This event will gather Wikimedia volunteers and digital thought leaders to discuss access to knowledge, participation in the Wikimedia projects, and the role of Wikipedia in education.
