Although not always necessary, line breaks may be necessary to make an article look better, or to format an article. This article explains how to add a line break to a wikiHow article.

Steps

    Click on "Advanced Editing." Note: A line break is a "soft" break: it does not start a new numbered step.

    Type <br>.

    Repeating <br>will add blank lines. Typing <br><br>adds another line (a blank line).

    Observe the effect and you are done -- example: adding two lines spaces here:

    That was easy, now wasn't it?

    See that the numbering continues in sequence.

    Finished.
