Steps

1Cast on. A good number to start with is 10 or 12, but whatever you choose, the number must be even.

2Knit one stitch.

3Bring the yarn to the front, as if you were going to purl.

4Stick the needle into the front of the stitch, then just slide it onto your needle.

5Repeat for all rows.

6Get a spare needle.

7Get all odd stitches onto the needle (knitted ones). Keep all even stitches (slid) on the needle on the one having all the stitches.

8Bind off each needle separately unless the pocket fits your head (see below).
- Slide the tail through both stitches left, then (for a closable pull string pocket).
- Slide the tail through all stitches left (don't bind off), then tie knot.
