Motivate Oneself to Do Exercises

A fit body or 6 packs abs is the ultimate dream of anyone who starts an exercise regimen. It seems to them an achievable goal in the beginning but within few days the spirit fizzles out when the expected changes don't happen quickly. It is a common misconception that once exercising starts, the changes happen in a flash. But here, one forgets the fact that since the fat took months or even years to deposit on our body it will take at least months if not years to get rid of it. This article will check out the different ways one can motivate oneself.

Edit Steps

  1. 1
Start with light exercises. Since our body takes time to adjust to our exercise routine don’t start strenuous exercises straightaway. You will lose interest soon because of muscle and joint pains and also due to exhaustion. Instead start with some simple and light exercises for a few minutes each day. Gradually increase the duration and also the complexity of the exercises. It would be perfect if you start with Yoga as there are several 'asanas' that are simple and effortless but at the same time effective.
  2. 2
Try a mixed bag of exercises. It is always a good idea to try a mixed bag of exercises so that you don't bore yourself trying the same exercises day in and day out. That means for instance, mix aerobic exercises with Yoga.
  3. 3
Read motivating books on weight loss. Instead of spending time watching TV and reading boring magazines go to a book shop and buy books that motivate you to lose weight.
  4. 4
Find a friend or group of friends who think along the same lines. It will be good if you can find a group who are trying to lose weight so that even if you get disheartened others are there to give you the necessary encouragement.
  5. 5
Collect pictures of those with fit body. Try collecting pictures of people who really motivate you and place it somewhere so that you see it first thing in the morning.
  6. 6
Try hard and be confident and determined. All these previous steps won't help if you don't try hard or have faith and confidence in your abilities and above all if you don't stop eating junk food.
