EditSteps
-
1Go to a starter system like Todaki.
-
2Be sure to fly a fast frigate with a warp scram on it.
-
3Locate a noob mining in an asteroid belt.
- If they do not have a can, offer them free stuff from your can and attack them when they are going to take it.
- If they do have a can, steal all their ores into your can and wait for them to take it back. They may warp out first. Attack them when they take it.
- Lock down their pod with a warp scram, and ransom it for 10 isk.
-
4You could get banned because this is against the rules according to the eve GMs. (http://support.eve-online.com/Pages/KB/Article.aspx?id=336)
EditTips
- Noobs have little of value so ransoming their ship is useless.
- Be sure to use a short range (7500m) warp scram.
- Noobs have no clue and are gullible.
- Be sure to orbit close, about 5000m.
EditWarnings
- An example of grief play would be the so called "Can baiting" in starter systems. An experienced player drops a cargo container with some items in front of a station in a starter system and waits for a new player to take from it. The new player is flagged and promptly attacked and killed by the owner of the container. Doing the same in starter tutorial complexes is also considered grief play and will not be tolerated.
- Do not destroy the pod, you will lose 1.5 security status and concord will get you.
- Do not shoot unless they are blinking red on the screen or in the overview.
