GrapeCity has announced the 2015 v2 release of its ComponentOne Studio product, a world-renowned suite of data and UI controls for professional .NET developers building Windows, web and mobile applications. The v2 ComponentOne Studio release offers software developers innovative productivity tools for building sleek, high-performing, feature complete applications. One of the biggest debuts in the v2 release is ComponentOne Studio’s new Web API. Driving forward with better migration and full reporting integration, GrapeCity has added a new ReportPreview control for WinForms (Beta), four new chart types, script editors, and new features for report customization. "Our VBScript Editor now supports Intellisense and, with the Split View users, can compare multiple scripts at one time, making easier than ever to write scripts," said Handley.
When building modern, touch first solutions, the MVC controls inside ComponentOne Studio are not only designed to be fast and lightweight, they are also engineered to support any requirement. Handley shared that if the requirement is full compatibility with MVC6 and ASP.NET 5.0, ComponentOne Studio MVC controls will be fully compatible once Microsoft announces the framework has been released to manufacturing (RTM).
With the Microsoft announcement that the final releases of Visual Studio 2015, Team Foundation Server 2015 and .NET Framework 4.6 will be available for download on July 20th, Handley confirmed that GrapeCity will be a sim-ship vendor. Earlier this year, LEADTOOLS Version 19 was released with major optimizations to its OCR and MICR engines. Each of these technologies extracts text information from images or documents including TIFF, JPEG, PNG and PDF. Additionally, a new Check Processing algorithm was developed to combine both of these engines into a programmer-friendly interface for finding the important check fields such as the date, name, amount, signature, bank account and routing number.

On top of the optimized recognition engines and check processing SDK, many of these companies were particularly interested in putting this technology to use within mobile devices and tablets running on iOS, Android and Windows. A new image pre-processing function, Perspective Deskew, was introduced in Version 19 to automatically correct three-dimensional skewing common on images captured from mobile devices. This advanced algorithm sealed the deal for several companies and is continuing to be a strong selling point for the LEADTOOLS Document Imaging family of products.

VintaSoft releases the new major version 8.2 of Barcode SDK for .NET, WPF, ASP.NET and Silverlight, which includes series of enhancements and improvements.
The support for the following new barcode types has been added to barcode reader and barcode generator algorithms: Code 16K, Matrix 2 of 5, IATA 2 of 5, PPN, PZN, FedEx Ground 96, DHL AWB, VIN, OPC, Deutsсhe Post Leitcode, Deutsche Post Identcode, SSCC-18, VICS BOL, VICS SCAC PRO, JAN, Swiss PostParcel, EAN-Velocity, Numly Number.
As result the Barcode SDK can recognize and generate now about 100 linear (1D) and matrix (2D) barcode symbologies from/to image files and image resources of PDF documents.
The recognition quality of Code 39, Code 128, RSS 14 Stacked, RSS Expanded Stacked, Interleaved 2 of 5 barcodes has been significantly increased and accelerated up to 25%. The probability of appearing an error during recognition of Code 39 and Code 128 barcodes from very noisy images has been minimized.
Added the abilities to use Structured Append feature for PDF417 (Macro PDF417), Micro PDF417, Code 16K barcodes and to get the recognized barcode internal dimensions. The functionality of ISO based barcode print quality tests has been extended to the highest level.

Atlanta, GA May 20th 2015 – Qoppa Software’s spring release of Java® PDF library and Swing PDF component delivers improved image processing performance, rendering to custom color spaces for output preview and many annotation, redaction and form field enhancements. This release also adds a new optional PDF comparison module.
“In version 2015R1, we’ve continued to enhance and refine the interactive tools in our PDF components while adding very sophisticated image and rendering features to our PDF engine.” says Gerald Holmann, Qoppa Software President.
Qoppa’s image handling framework was redesigned to process images more efficiently in both memory and CPU usage. The new code for image processing uses a lot less memory and is able to render images of any size, with speed improvements of about 20% on average, or higher in some cases. As part of this redesign, additional features were added including the ability to render in non-RGB color spaces, such as CMYK and to simulate overprint in Qoppa’s advanced PDF editing component, jPDFEditor. Output preview and overprint simulation are sophisticated techniques used by professionals in the print and pre-press industry to preview on the screen how colors will overlap and mix when printed.
jPDFProcess’ Java API was enhanced to allow applying redaction annotations, a process also known as “burning redactions”. Opening up this function on the back-end, makes it possible for Qoppa’s customers to use Qoppa’s PDF library and PDF component together, within a client / server document workflow, to apply and burn redaction.
As usage of PDF documents increase in all industries, including publishing, energy, engineering and manufacturing, professionals have needs for comparing and reviewing multiple documents or multiple versions of the same document. Qoppa’s new PDF comparison module makes it easy to do just that. The Side by Side Comparison View displays two PDFs side by side in a synchronous scrolling view, allowing annotating or editing any of the two documents. The Overlay Comparison View superimposes two PDF documents and makes use of complementary colors to highlight differences between the documents. Switching back and forth between the two comparison views is done with the click of a button!
The user experience in Qoppa’s PDF Visual Components is enhanced with new, more modern icons and better interactive tools. Annotation tools were improved with multiple annotations editing, additional options for redaction and measuring annotations and a visual rotation handle for rubber stamps. Link and bookmark tools were also improved. A new date picker component was implemented, making it very convenient to fill in interactive date and time fields. New view options are available to display grid and rulers.
This release was also a good opportunity for Qoppa Software to perform some code cleanup and remove many obsolete classes and methods – that had been deprecated for more than 2 years – from the public API.

Devart team announces the release of the new Review Assistant, v2.7. The improvements in an update focuses on facilitating external compliance code review. Now the tool allows to export code review into a printed document to share it with third parties. Another important feature is the ability to see review comments inside the built-in Visual Studio diff tool.
Review Assistant 2.7 has the following new improvements:
- Printed code review reports for companies that conduct external compliance review such as PA-DSS. The Review Assistant Reports window contains the new Code Review Details report:
- The report includes all reviews conducted over a specified time period;
- The report may be automatically divided into pages for printing;

- Smarter revision picking algorithm for a comparison
This algorithm is beneficial for users who conduct iterative code review with the help of Git or Mercurial. The new algorithm selects a file revision more accurately while reviewing changes. For the most part, this allows to separate changes of other users that could be included into the file upon code merge or as a result of significant intervals between iterations of one review.

- Faster operations with TFS;

Eylean has announce twon new features for it’s project management solution Eylean Board. From now on the users can enjoy schedule and workflow amongst the previously launched features. The new features are expected to enrich the customer experience and add to the larger scope view of the projects.
Eylean schedule is mainly focused towards the workflow overview – it shows the project tasks in a calendar view, allowing users to better understand the occupancy of the team and to plan along the deadlines. This is yet another visualization to improve the teams work and to allow for an easier flow of information.
The Roadmap feature is more oriented towards detail. It presents a resume of each task board, stating how many and which tasks have been moved forward and backward. Jelastic launches support for production-ready Docker, .NET/Windows, environment export/import and websockets

Docker Standard

Windows Containers
Another important milestone in the Jelastic Platform evolution, presented in this release, is implementation of Windows containers´ support, which provides companies with an ability to host web services, that are run on the Windows operating system, inside the cloud. Within the confines of this prominent feature, the following servers became available for the newly added .NET programming language, enabling easier automation of deployment:
- Internet Information Services (IIS) 8.0 application server for handling .NET apps, which supports both Microsoft´s .NET framework and ASPX scripts
- Microsoft 2012 SQL Server (Express edition), intended for storing data and managing SQL databases with the help of Microsoft SQL Server Management Studio
- Windows VPS server with the pure Windows Server 2012 OS (and 2008 version optionally installed)
- Remote Desktop Protocol (RDP) access to containers providing remote control over Windows environments

Environment Export and Import
The current Jelastic release includes one more feature, which exempts customers from any lock-in: Environment Export/Import. It allows easy migration of the hosted applications between different Jelastic installations. A user simply needs to export environments and import them to the preferred platform. During the export, all of the information about the environment topology and application settings is packed into a single .json file. After that, a user can seamlessly import the received file to the target platform, and quickly get an identical ready-to-work environment.
WebSockets
Jelastic version 3.1 provides advanced and improved WebSockets support. This technology has been integrated to the Jelastic Shared Load Balancer, so for now, websockets can be used even without the need to buy an external IP address.

Planned features to be implemented in 2015 Currently Jelastic team is actively working on the integration of Rocket, the container technology from CoreOS, that is the next evolutionary version of a container with security, composability and reliability. Rocket is the first implementation of the Application Container spec, which defines an image format, image discovery mechanism and execution environment that can exist in several independent implementations.
Jelastic plans to move forward in the direction of Rocket and support the Application Container spec, together with the CoreOS team. The team believes that a strong focus on the application container standard will expedite the next stage of the container evolution.

Responsive, Website-Like HTML5 Output
Version 11.0 builds MadCap Flare’s HTML5 output capabilities to enable the creation of “frameless” HTML5 output that more closely resembles a modern website. By departing from the more traditional tri-pane Help output, authors can deliver online guides and Help systems that complement the look and feel of their main websites. Flare 11.0 also includes templates to help authors customize and migrate their previous tri-pane HTML5 targets to the new model.
Additionally, the responsive design functionality first introduced in 2014 with Flare 10.0 has been enhanced in Flare 11.0 with the “device-width media queries” feature. This allows authors to more readily design their output to have the display change based on whether the screen used belongs to a computer, tablet, or mobile phone.
Universal 3D Output
MadCap Flare now supports U3D files for 3D modeling, which allows authors to create PDF and Web outputs featuring realistic, interactive images. Writers can add 3D models to their PDF and online outputs working with the same workflows they would use to add other multimedia types. Additionally, authors can embed a 3D model in a topic or snippet, or link to the model using a hyperlink.
Embedded Videos
With MadCap Flare 11.0, writers can now add YouTube and Vimeo movies to Web-based outputs, whether they are movies stored on these sites by the organization or third-party movies from these providers. Movies from YouTube and Vimeo can be embedded into a topic or snippet, providing the ability to use advanced settings to determine whether a movie will play automatically and what kind of information to display on the movie. Movies also can be hyperlinked, so that a movie is only played when a user clicks on the text and is sent to the host’s website to view the movie.
Support for Augmented Reality
With version 11.0, MadCap Flare becomes the first technical authoring tool to add support for augmented reality, making it easier than ever for end-users to access supplemental information. Through integration with Metaio Creator, Flare-based content can allow users to scan an element of content with a mobile device and access additional material—such as audio, video, 3D models, or animations—from another source. The augmented reality is presented as an image that is embedded in Flare-based content and then exported to Metaio Creator.

Concurrent Builds
In previous releases of MadCap Flare, authors could build output either in the user interface or in the background via Madbuild, Flare's compilation engine, in the command line. Flare 11.0 introduces a new option: the ability to build output in the background via Madbuild in the user interface. Quicker and easier than using the command line, this new functionality enables authors to continue working in their projects while generating one or more targets behind the scenes. Significantly, authors can also limit or expand the number of targets that can be generated in the background at the same time, providing control over computer resource demands.
Absolute Positioning
Absolute positioning in Flare 11.0 gives authors unprecedented control over where content elements—including images, HTML div tags, paragraphs, and more—appear in a topic for PDF or online output. Absolute positioning can be accomplished via styles or locally by selecting text wrap options in a context (right-click) menu of the XML Editor. Authors can specify an element’s location and resize it. Additionally, writers can use the z-index property in conjunction with absolute positioning to drag and drop an element exactly where they want it to appear within the text.
PDF Stitching
Through the PDF Stitching feature, authors can now stitch existing PDFs into one cohesive output target simply by adding links to them in a table of contents (TOC). The functionality is supported in PDF output and all of the online targets available with Flare.
Doc-To-Help Integration
MadCap Flare 11.0 adds integration to Doc-To-Help, the software for multichannel publishing of Microsoft Word-based content that MadCap Software acquired earlier this year, giving customers greater flexibility to use both products. Authors can now create new projects by importing Doc-To-Help files (with a .d2h extension) with a few mouse-clicks using either Flare’s Ribbon or Tool Strip view.
Expanded Source Control
MadCap Flare 11.0 extends source control support to include integration with the Git distributed version control system, enabling authors to perform day-to-day source control operations, such as check-in, checkout, and change history without leaving Flare. In addition to native support for Git, Flare offers native support for Microsoft Team Foundation Server, Microsoft Visual SourceSafe, Apache Subversion (SVN), and Perforce.
