How to Be Accepted in a New Religion
Converting can be hard. Many people of religions may act coldly or weird around you. This is okay. With the right attitude and the right friends, you can be accepted in your new religion.
Steps
-
1Be nice and friendly. Learn the cultures of the religion and follow them! Many of the older people in the congregation will be impressed by your knowledge, and this will gain you much, much respect.Ad

2One word: Food. Humans LOVE food. Bring foods for after the service, especially if you are a part of a religion with a culture that eats certain foods, such as Judaism. If you are converting to a religion that eats kosher foods, do NOT bring pork, meat with dairy, or anything like that. Search for what's kosher and what's not. Also, if you are Jewish, do not bring leavened bread around Passover.
-
3Learn more about the culture of the religion. You don't want to stick out like a sore thumb, do you?
-
4If your new religion has a different language (such as Islam or Judaism), learn the language. If you are Jewish, study Hebrew. If you are Muslim, study Arabic. Make sure to also study your holy books, if any.
-
5Make friends. Being friends with the leader (such as the priest) will gain you high respect. Getting to know those around you will help in fitting in.Ad
Tips
- Study up on the religion's culture and rules. You don't want to break any of these rules or stand out because you did something bad.
- If you are Jewish or Muslim, do not bring unkosher or unclean foods to the service. This is highly offensive to do.
Warnings
- Do not do anything offensive. If you don't study up on the religion, you could get yourself into trouble!
- You may offend some people of the religion, being new. Just smile and don't let them bother you. They may warm up to you after a while.
- Make sure that you really want to join because all religions are cults. Most cults have forms of punishing people who want to leave i.e. isolation, shaming and some can be physically dangerous
