Have you ever been standing in line talking to someone who you think is cool or totally cute when your friend walks by and starts acting like she is in kindergarten or pre-school? Or is she dressing like a third grader or using words like: homie G dog, cool as blue moon, ice cream, or any out-of-fashion retro slang? Read this article and soon your friend will be cool as can be.

EditSteps

  1. 1
If your friend says something embarrassing, KINDLY ask him/her not to say it again. The key is simply to be blunt and let her know you don't like the comment.

  2. 2
If your friend's hairstyle is a pathetic excuse for fashion, mention some hair styles you might want to get. Then ask her what she might like and slowly hint that you two could go out and get your hair cut together.
  3. 3
Does your friend's outfit belongs in the Salvation Army Thrift Store? Ask her to go to the mall with you with some other friends.
    • Bring along other friends who also have a sense of fashion but will not be mean to her. A great thing about bringing others is that you can all give her feedback on what looks good on her.
    • The point of this trip isn't to push her into changing how she looks, but to slowly figure what she likes that still fits within current fashion standards. During the shopping trip, you can point out clothes that you like and help her find something nice that she likes. Only help her get one to three things so that it isn't a stressful change and more like a fun trip with some gifts.
  4. 4
Go to her house (prepare for a sleepover or something like that so that the two of you can be more relaxed; also, don't invite other people, one to one is a lot more comfortable) one day and get a look at her wardrobe, makeup/styling products, accessories, etc. During this 'experience', give more positive comments than negative; you don't want to be rude. Point out clothes that go well together as outfits. Play around with different outfit combinations.
  5. 5
When your friend has a makeup style that you don't like (too much or none at all), ask her if you could do her makeup one day. Afterward, ask her if she likes it or how she would like it differently.
  6. 6
Tell your friend you will give her a complete make-over! She will agree to the idea and make sure you do something that matches her style and is still uniquely cool!
  7. 7
Don't change your friend! If she became your friend for certain reasons, don't change them! Other people might like her for these reasons too.

EditTips

  • Be Polite, don't insult her or make her feel awful.
  • Don't make it an attack on her. Make calm suggestions and opinions. Don't tell her what she has to do nor order her around.
  • If you're truly her friend, you shouldn't want to change her. Try accepting people as they are. If somebody doesn't like you for who you are, that person is not worth knowing.
  • Be Responsible, make plans with your friend and ask her parents for permission to go out together. Don't ask to go to the mall on an hour notice. Make plans long before and always tell her parents where you are going.
  • If she looks uncomfortable, ask her how she's feeling. If she doesn't feel good about it, leave the matter alone but ask if she would like to talk about it later on.

EditWarnings

  • Don't try to change the things she loves. Unless she personally asks you for help, keep things to a minimum. You're not changing her way of life, just small features that may change her popularity and possibly your own.
  • Don't force this on her in only a week, slowly hint these things over a longer period of time. The process will be slow and you have to be patient.
  • Do not EVER try to overdo her look or make people think she's changing and copying everyone. DO IT OVER A LONG PERIOD OF TIME!

EditThings You'll Need

  • Co-operation from your friend
