And to conclude my posts.. We wouldn't be public health without exercise, right?! The #HarvardChanFam transcends the walls of our institution, all the way to the Zumba studio. Our instructor is a mild-mannered and hardworking registrar office staffmember by day... Zumba queen by night! I've had a great time giving you a taste of what #lifeatchan is like for me - but the beauty is that this isn't a typical day at all. Every student at our school is so wonderfully different and what you saw in my posts is just one slice of our very big pie. For example, most students still take classes, and some have practicum projects or do very different types of research than what I highlighted today. I hope you'll stay excited about the work we do here at Harvard Chan School, because our reason for continuing to work so hard is the hope that we can all live happier and healthier lives. ~Allyson Morton, Ph.D. '17 (I hope! 😉)

I suppose I should introduce myself. I'm Allyson, a 4th year Ph.D candidate in the division of biological sciences. My lab is in the Department of Nutrition and we study the effect of diet on HDL metabolism in humans. But besides that, I love to cook, work out, read books, and rep my home state (North Carolina). And I'm the new VP of Student Life for @hsphstudentgov! I can't wait to meet all the new students this year 😊
