How to Get Situated with Your Cat
Two Parts:IntroductionLivingQuestions and Answers
Either if you adopted your cat from a local shelter or you bought your cat, it is pretty hard to get situated with your cat because they are so shy. Here is how you can tell your cat in a lovingly way that you love him/her and will be taking care of him/her.

EditPart 1 of 2: Introduction
-
1When you first release your cat, it will probably run to the nearest hiding place. Do not bother them; accept that at first he/she will be a little shy. However, if your cat slowly gets out shyly, let him/her sniff you and know that you are not a threat.Ad

2Feeding your cat will last as one of the first impressions of you on your cat. Gently give your cat a feeding bowl and he/she will of course sniff the bowl. Letting your cat know that you will be feeding him/her for a long time will show the cat that you are a trustworthy person.
-
3Don't forget to feed your cat treats. The more treats you give your cat, the more your cat will know that treats are a good thing. If you want to start training your cat, don't start until you and your cat are both comfortable with each other.
-
4Once your cat comes out of his/her shell, your cat might be sleeping with you. This means your cat is comfortable with you and knows you are a good person.Ad
EditPart 2 of 2: Living
-
1After you and your cat are situated, your cat is now a new member of your family.
-
2Teach your cat discipline. For example, if you don't want your cat to be on the table with you at dinner, scold him/her. This will teach your cat to not get onto the dinner table next time.
-
3Be flexible with your cat. Cats are not like dogs. They all seem to have a mind of their own. If your cat knocks over a vase, do not scold him that much.
-
4Once you and your cat are situated, your cat will accept you as a member of the family.Ad
