Writing a eulogy for a mean person is a challenge. You want to say the right things without lying and offending their loved ones. Here are some ideas on what to write about:

    Focus on their strengths, instead of their flaws. It is easy to complain about their drinking, abuse, narcissism, gambling, negativity, etc.

    Avoid it. Instead, focus on what their "good side". Were they a hard worker? Did they support their family? Did they donate to charity at least 1 time? If so, state the charity and the cause they donated to. If they helped you or someone at all, list all the examples. Listing all the examples they did can fill up the time.

    Say they were in your life for a reason. They were a challenging person and dealing with them made you a stronger person you are today. (It's true! Without any challenges in life, we won't be able to grow spiritually.)

    Say they taught by example. If they were a negative person in life, that is an example that you want to avoid because you don't want to be like them.

    Talk about any funny things that happened to them and/or any jokes you remembered they told.

    If there are any survivors in their family, list those people. He/She is survived by spouse, children, pets, etc. Say the deceased won't have to worry because their surviving family will have a huge support system.

    In other words, you realize they were a jerk and you will now be wiser in choosing people who deserve your company.
