How to make snail pincushions.
Step 1: Cast on 25 stitches and do neat rows of plain and purl until the length is very long, you can even mix in the different colours of wool the choice is yours.
Step 2: Roll the long length of knitting tightly like you would do to a swiss roll. When you come to the end, neatly darren with wool. You have formed a knitted cylinder tube.
Step 3: Roll the end of the tube in towards you to form a shell-like snail effect.
Step 4: Darren and stitch together to form a snail head and shell.
Step 5: Choose a different colour of wool for the snail's feelers at the top of its head. Cut 2 medium strands of wool and darren the snail head. Then, cut little circles of black felt for the eyes. Cut a little red strip of felt for the snail's mouth.
Step 6: Stitch onto a little bean bag. There you have your pin cushion.
