• Michelle Williams S.M. ’88, Sc.D. ’91 named new Dean

    Michelle Williams, SM '88, SD '91, the current Stephen B. Kay Family Professor of Public Health and Chair of the Epidemiology department at the Harvard Chan School, will become the next Dean of the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health. Williams will begin her new role as Dean in July. 

  • Harvard Chan School Alumni Awards Nomination Process is now Open!

    The 2016 Alumni Association Awards nomination process is underway. Nominations will be accepted for the Award of Merit, Leadership Award in Public Health Practice, Public Health Innovator Award, and Emerging Public Health Professional Award. The deadline to submit a nomination is Sunday, May 1, 2016.

    Dr. Anna Banerji, MPH '03 provides care for refugees in Canada in this CBC video from The National. The longer it takes to settle refugees, the longer they go without consistent health care. This Canadian doctor has made it her own medical mission to treat refugee children.

    Dr. Madina Agénor, SD '13, has been appointed to the School’s faculty as Assistant Professor of Social and Behavioral Sciences at the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health. Dr. Agénor was previously a Postdoctoral Research Fellow and Visiting Scientist at the Harvard Chan School. 
    Dr. Paula Johnson, MPH '85, a professor in the Department of Epidemiology at Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health has been named President of Wellesley College. Johnson is the 14th president of the College and the College's first African American leader. Johnson will start in her new position in July 2016. 
    Dr. Albert Hofman has been appointed Professor of Clinical Epidemiology at the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health. Dr. Hofman joins the School from the Erasmus Medical Center, Rotterdam, Netherlands.

    Richard Levins, John Rock Professor of Population Sciences in the Department of Global Health and Population at Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health, died January 19, 2016. Dr. Levins was 85.
