Love the features This app won't just hold all your photos for you in the cloud so you can have more space on your phone. Oh no, it will sort your pictures for you, auto create albums for similar pictures and movies based on when and where your took it. It will also let you search for pictures or people that exist in your photos and is surprisingly accurate. Only improvement request is better offline functionality. Searching doesn't work and some photos don't load without a reliable network. Besides that, great job Google!

In the background What I like so much about this app is what happens without my knowledge. The continual backing of photos and creation of animations, collages and even movies is fantastic. I also love that I can take control and make my own movies, one of which I did with a road trip for my buddy and I. Took me maybe 2 hours total to edit all the scenes just right, but now we have a memory we won't forget. I'm normally not one to give something a perfect score, but this app continues to deliver!

You are such liars.. You have given an option to upload unlimited photos n videos.. Great.. And then an option to delete everything offline n have everything on the cloud.. Even better.. But why did you never tell before hand that all the folder wise categorization I have done to my photos for last 10 years will be lost.. Now all I can see is my pics on the cloud, date wise.. Do you realise the amount of folder wise categorization I wld have done over a span of 10 years.. I sincerely did not expect this from Google..

A good space saver I like Google photos however it does have a couple of issues It is hard to say where your photos really are and just what app is managing them It does cause some concern when they say they have moved the photos to my Google Drive and yet I can still find them with my file manager on the phone SD card. So it seems I don't know if it works or not

Here we are but not yet finished! "Discover past day" feature doesn't work properly; photos (prior to zoom in it) and panorama sticked photos are in low resolution. Show more info for photos and videos e.g. frame rate. In order to replace Gallery the application startup must be speeded up (it takes twice time compared to stock gallery app...).

Saved my trip & my life Went backpacking with Google photos installed on my phone. Didn't think much of it until just before the end of my trip my phone was lost. This was the trip to which I proposed to my partner and shared our most memorable moments. Thanks to this app, every single photo was backed up online in full resolution. Google even categorised them all by the different countries we visited. I would never leave home without it now (and a OneSim)

Long time user This app is great, I have it set to upload my photos and videos over WiFi and not having to worry about any limit on the the cloud is such a big tick for me. The AI assistant works really well too and have saved many suggestions so far. If anything thing the app could use would be more editing tools but I'm happy as is. Nexus 6p user.

Love this app. It's easy to use and it let's me know when my device is low on storage and deletes my photos and movies from the gallery that are already in my google photos in order to free up more space. I love the animations. The only thing I don't like is the delete button is right by my back button n I've hit the delete button by mistake a few times and the photo is just gone forever. They should have it ask you if you really want it deleted

Top Photo App I use this app on my Nexus 9 all the time now, with the latest few updates this app has gotten better and better. The way your photos are organized and searchable is nice. The editing tools and new crop features are very welcome addition. Googles ability to recognize people in photos and where your at is very cool and scary @ the same time. Keep the updates coming im giving 5 stars now. Also unlimited photo storage or 15gb Free Storage Space is very nice.

Great for photo storage A lot of people don't realize that the space that is taken up in their phone has pictures to blame. So if you back your photos up on Google photos, you can make tons more room on your phone and even enjoy looking at pictures of the past. You just may find hidden little treasured moments inside.

Excellent App! Excellent! Sometimes app won't put animation in correct order or let me manually pick order. Wish app had unique upload icons to show which photos were backed up as Original resolution and which were backed up as optimized resolution... Doesn't have access to delete from my sd card but it shows picts from my sd card - major annoyance. Doesn't seem to backup in background very well - I have to bring up app and leave it up for it to start backing up sometimes...

Can't complain. Like many of the features. It does require and take up data, but it doesn't take up phone memory capacity. Fair trade I suppose. If I could give the app a higher rating than 4 but less than 5 I would. By far the most useful picture organizer I've ever used on any device. I love Google; Google is great. Can't wait for the release of pixel, WiFi, home and daydream. The sooner the release, the sooner they can fix the bugs and give them all a new look just in time for me to purchase them all. 😆😊

So great! This app is just the best and i can honestly rely heavily on this to backup my memories <3! Just sucks that sometimes it doesnt automatically back up photos if you have a new phone or if its being a pain in the butt. But great app, highly highly HIGHLY RECOMMEND.

Its amazingly convienient I struggle with keeping too many photos on my phone and always try to delete them but its so sad to say goodbye to them. Awesome for a casual perfectionist I've been using camera since I was 7 years old. It usually involves getting my parents to take the exposed film to the drugstore to get it developed. Now my Nexus 6 phone with this almost invisible software does everything with pure joy. The only thing I would do different is make the automatic slideshows animations have a speed control. Because I have seen several of these albums and a slideshow moves like 5 pictures a second. But I'm not at all concerned about the quality of the photos. I just need more w

Promising app ending as a dud Features are excellent. Assistant helps in making video. But when I wanted to edit the videos, 5 out of 10 times they were permantly lost. I spend the last 1 hour editing a video but as soon as I wanted to export the 59sec video to YouTube, the app showed 'not connected to internet'. The connection is just fine btw. Whatever, I now cannot go back and save my work for later use. It's permantly lost. This is the 5th time within the last 6months. Way to go Google!

I just love this app Beautiful performance thereby from the app. It is a very good synchronizing app for all my photos. One problem has been faced be me on my Samsung galaxy j2. I think it's only for less RAM. Now am on lenovo vibe p1m having 2gb RAM. And now it's just superb. I will really stamped it a 5stars photo syncing app with most beautiful other features.

Amazing features but double tap and pinch to zoom isn't working right This app is amazing and has great, well thought-out features. However, the double tap to zoom and pinch to zoom features don't work reliably. There are times when I double tap to zoom in on a picture and then attempt to double tap to zoom out and it refuses to work. Additionally the pinch to zoom feature is very unreliable in the app. Other apps like Facebook work fine with regards to double tap and pinch to zoom. Please fix this and my review will be 5 stars!

BEST Ok, overall Google Photos gets 5 stars because they are really on top of their game about saving ALL my pictures. No matter if it's a screen shot, download or video I've recorded with my phone, they grab it and I know it's safe. The ONE flaw that I'm sure most everyone will agree with, is the duplicates. I can delete 2 duplicates of the same photo, and it seems the next time I log into Google Photos, the 2 I deleted are not only back, but they've brought 4 more doubles with them.

Unclear WiFi settings I turned on Google photos again after not using it for awhile. Then I went to lunch.. When I came back it had used up my monthly data limit. I had turned photos and videos on assuming this was to choose what to back up but after when looking closer it was about what to backup while on mobile. Wish it was a bit more clear like "Back up on WiFi only". Now I have to pay for more data this month and I hate to pay for nothing (and I have to feel stupid as well). Normally I like Google photos. Thanks!

Super easy and helpful. For the longest time I couldn't figure out how to delete pictures off of my phone that had been backed up with Google photos. The other day I simply got a message from Google photos that my free space was almost used up and would I like to delete 200 photos from my phone which had already been backed up? I simply clicked yes and wala! Very helpful

Love it I have a Google Nexus 6p and I absolutely Love everything Google. This app is a great app, most Google apps are. The only thing is even with WiFi it takes absolutely forever to upload videos. I'm a YouTuber and I need to be able to edit my videos and I do this using a Mac (sad to say) but I need to have them uploaded to I can retrieve the film from Photos. It just takes a while to upload, other than that I love it.

Confusing and Frustrating! Google in itself is better than most. Having said that, it is still hard to navigate through. I delete phone everywhere, then I permanently delete them yet they are still in various locations. Maybe I am misunderstanding what Google's interpretations of the words everywhere and permanent are. Then when I download a document I am unable to view it. I just wish there was an easier browser out there.

Does the job and does it well! I used this app to back up my photos. I can access them from any computer. It uplands the pictures fast and in high quality and stores them for free! You do not have to buy extra storage. It syncs all the pictures and videos you take automatically. 100% satisfied user.

Lame! Can't download album I want to download an album but I don't see an option for that. I do not always have internet but I want to always have my art pics with me... but I don't see an option to download... UPDATE enough time has passed that I forgot about this review and shared a video only to find out the recipient couldn't download it on their phone. Same problem again! So I am knocking it down from 4 to 2 stars because I want this to be fixed! Only reason I am leaving 2 is at least it backs stuff up consistently.

No Download option I've had to drop it from 5-stars to only 2-stars as Google have stopped the download to your phone feature. Due to using this across platforms and occasionally wanting to download to my SD card it worked really well for me but now that function is gone and a hugely important one.

Why take away the download option Not everybody wants Google to have full control. some people like to have a copy of their pictures save on their own SD card. I have an app on my tablet which is far superior to Google Photos and I will now have to find another way to download my own pictures. First Google take away Picasa and now they restrict the functionality of Photos. Where will it end?

I'm glad it backed up but... I had 5 or 6 stories that were in the assistant that I wanted to edit and save! Now their gone! Do they delete they after a week? It was a busy week for me and I didn't have time to save edit them! Please tell me the assistant auto saves them so I can edit them later!

Updates improved significantly Much improved with updates over the last several months. Sync bugs are gone, assistant has improved, and search works relatively well. Editing tools are still subpar compared to Snapseed or Pixlr but I don't use it for editing. Still missing access to delete photos on SD card, need to use native gallery app for that.

No download feature This app sucks ass now I can't even re download a picture to my gallery after the stupid update. And of course Google doesn't respond when you ask them about it. What the hell is the point of the restore button? it tries to open the picture as a html it's like Google is holding my pictures hostage. Does anyone know of a better app.

The Best Photo App I'm obsessed with this app. I love the assistant feature, the pix and videos Photos pushes out to me and I especially love having an album basically created for me whenever we go trotting somewhere. So many great features and edit options. I've been using it for years now, won't go anywhere else. Love Google Photos!

Why can't I download from my cloud now!!!! Google just loves to control every aspect of my photos. Wtf would you take away my ability to download my videos from MY CLOUD. You just force everyone to bow down to your will. Now I must use your BS video player so stupid it's a crap player with no functionality other then play and stop. Google rapes everyone with their forced apps.
