My latest column: Every 14 hours, someone is so severely injured in San Francisco traffic, they’re taken to S.F. General. On Nov 6, that person was famous artist Paul Madonna. Joen Madonna, his wife, opened up about what happened and their long road ahead.

As someone whose daughter died in a mass shooting, this tweet from is truly bothering me. It was not an "event" Glenn. It was a mass shooting in your state and under your leadership. It was gun violence. Glenn, call it what it is.

For family and friends with questions about the event, @UVA has established an Emergency Hotline at 877-685-4836

I haven't registered an account yet, but here's an insightful thread with academic/science tweeps discussing ways to parse DOIs on Mastodon, raising good questions on the searchability of the literature on a platform that profoundly differs from Twitter:

I’m starting a new position as Outreach Coordinator with @zotero! Librarians, I'd love to hear about how Zotero could better engage with its user community, and what kinds of training and materials (e.g. webinars, videos, etc.) could help you better teach Zotero to users!
