Sounds like the high tide isn't as bad as it was supposed to be? My fingers are crossed for everyone near the water.

UMB also owes us a reasonable, coherent policy regarding severe sea-based weather. Everyone is really upset about this. (Using my platform for the good of my community, fin)

. owes students, facility, and staff a huge apology for this. People could have been hurt and a lot of struggling college students may not have functional cars anymore.

Supposedly makes weather decisions based on what Boston Public Schools does. This makes sense for snow, maybe, but if that's really what they do, it's a ridiculous policy for ocean-related natural disasters.

My nursing cohort had an exam today that we all took with major unnecessary stress. Then we all got sent home without getting to have lecture, which we need to pass.

I hope this didn't ruin people's cars. I know a lot of people struggled to get to class at all today. My windshield wiper blew off my car. I was late.

This led to what sounds like (based on my classmates' reports) people trapped in the flooded Bayside lot because there's only one way out and it was or is backed up. HORRIBLE.

We knew that Bayside (that's what we call the Bayside lot) was flooding BEFORE the school was closed. They waited FOR IT TO FLOOD before canceling school.

Third: the parking situation at UMB is abysmal. The school rents what was the Bayside Expo Center lot and that is where most people park. Guess what? It floods.

Second of all, nothing that happened today was a surprise. Everything has gone pretty much as was predicted. BC High is right next to us and knew to close. Why didn't UMB?

So right off the bat, this makes a special situation when it comes to any weather disasters that are coming from offshore, much more so than any other college in town.
