    The role of policy in innovation is critical. M-Pesa was not the first mobile money intervention, it only succeeded because the government did not impede it. If you have policy makers who are afraid of technology & innovation there is no development

    Many people in the Global North underestimate the level of bureaucracy and policy bottlenecks that innovations in the Global South face. It is not innovation that is lacking.. the policy environment is a huge challenge.
