An upcoming evening meeting of the BART Board of Directors will focus on rider safety. It will be held on Thursday, September 27 at 5pm at Pittsburg City Hall. It's a short walk from Pittsburg Center Station and a free shuttle service will be available.

Yes, it's super helpful if you can note the train car number when reporting a problem -- it speeds up getting it into the right hands for attention. They're marked at the end of each car interior above door, & also by intercom buttons, & also on car exteriors at end. Thanks!

This is the last 2018 weekend (9/22-23) when buses replace trains between West Oak. & 19th for track improvements using voter-approved Measure RR funds. Take a bus from W. Oak. to 19th for Lake Merritt. There's work at MacArthur, too--for transfers see:

Scavenger hunt: find our tribute to the regional mass transit pioneer Marvin Lewis a “determined prophet for whom praises often went unsung.” Hint....it’s at our Embarcadero Station.

My grandfather Marvin Lewis visioned in the 1950s as a 9 county Monorail to run across both bridges. The station was to be in front of City Hall. The whole story is written here: BART: The Dramatic History of the Bay Area Rapid Transit System

Gonna send your feedback to the break areas where employees can see it scrolling on display screens. It's a big motivation to know that someone's noticing the extra effort, and they appreciate it.

Avid movie-goer here, in solidarity with all of you who've worked as theater cleaners! We get knocked-over popcorn sometimes too, and sunflower seed shells, and gum. Our crews work hard to stay on top of the litterbugs!

Come along with our end-of-line cleaners as they race the clock to pick up garbage, sweep, mop and scrub the trains before they turn around for another run. They're filling giant garbage bags every 10 minutes & cleaning up the messes others leave behind.

Trains get scrubbed down and sanitized during the overnight hours when we are closed but they’re also cleaned at the end of each run. We also have mid-route cleaners for urgent messes that can’t wait. Use the report biohazard feature on to alert crews.
