    Kalief Browder was in Rikers for 3 years as a teen without a trial. He endured beatings & solitary—where he attempted suicide. After his release, he took his life. In a recent debate, a Queens prosecutor tried to minimize the role Rikers had in his death.

    Our money bail system is LITERALLY life threatening. In Houston, Debra Lyons couldn’t afford her $1500 bail for a theft charge. While waiting trial, she unfortunately committed suicide.
