  2. This. I’ve never understood why it was supposed to be a relevant question.

  3. It's sick to watch liberals cheer the prosecution of Assange by Trump's Justice Department, headed by William "Exonerate the Iran Contra Criminals" Barr, as though this prosecution is not a massive attack on press freedom, rather some gotcha about the 2016 election. It's deranged

  10. Rahm backed the Chicago police’s denials, as did most Chicago reporters. The thing is, those denials were lies. Our lawsuit actually led to us deposing police officials, and we learned that indeed, CPD’s records ensured people were disappeared while there.

  12. In 2015, I reported on a warehouse in Chicago where police take mostly black & Hispanic Chicagoans for incommunicado interrogations before booking them at regular police stations. Emanuel, up for re-election, gave a nondenial denial. I sued CPD for their own records proving it.

Anyway, the Senate just voted 52-47 to move forward with making Howard Nielson -- a guy who spent years fighting marriage equality and was part of the team behind GWB's torture memos -- a lifetime federal judge.
