Kim Hyok Chol, the North Korean diplomat who South Korean newspaper Chosun Ilbo previously said was executed by firing squad is alive and in state custody, according to a new CNN report. Sources told @willripleyCNN that the ex-spy chief and lead nuclear negotiator was not sentenced to forced labor, but instead “kept silently in his office writing statements of self-criticism.”
