    This past weekend different Chinatown orgs from the US and Canada build community and solidarity with us. They chanted “Sex work is work” with us. And we continue to stand with everyone fighting gentrification and policing.

    Gentrification is not inevitable. It is possible to develop and have rent control laws, for the govt to build affordable housing instead of relying on developers, for upzoning to require at least 50% affordable housing based on neighborhood income...

    I wrote for about a neighborhood that gets ignored in convos about gentrification: Flushing. A big reason: It’s Chinese developers displacing a majority Asian neighborhood. It’s a story of global capital. Thx to my editor

    This piece by is so beautifully written and painful to read. Please take 5 minutes to read about how transnational capitalists are displacing our families and small businesses in Flushing. What's worse? Our political representatives are letting it happen.
