I am writing my dispatch from the future for the Assembly today. So interesting to imagine 2029, and think about what is to come. Big thanks to and for the provocations, and for the invite!

I worry: a single-minded push for gender equity in STEM overshadows the need to revalue skills & expertise predominantly covered by women & minorities. Also STEM is largely formulaic. Anything formulaic can be automated & made efficient by AI. Care is not.

Many of us in the disability community are today grieving the loss of Sue Salthouse. I can't quite believe she's gone. She was one of those people that you can't quite imagine death ever being brave enough to take on.

Each time I met with her - and I dearly wish we had been able to do so more often - I left with the impression of a woman totally focused on working to create change for her community. As we mourn her loss we also recommit ourselves to continuing that work. Vale Sue
